Probably one of the poorest episodes written. Lazy and not funny in the slightest. They even added past clips to top off their laziness. So many voices have changed. I really love The Simpsons and they really need to improve. I think it was season 34 which a few episodes with songs, which for me is an instant fast forward. Conan O'Brien hogs most of this episode. I am not a fan of guest celebrities playing a major part in the episode as they just never work well, but they do as cameos. These "outside of the box" episodes work better in the Treehouse of Horror's as a science fiction or horror story.
My cousin and I growing up were both big The Simpsons fans.
We got along really well and one of the things we often would talk about/discuss was The Simpsons episodes. A while ago he told me that The Simpsons have gone downhill if you compare the older episodes versus the newer ones, and unfortunately he is right.
The quality has of course gotten much better over the years due to a certain number of things, but the quality of the content has not gotten better at all.
I have seen a few episodes of some of the seasons but with season 36 out, I thought it would be a good idea to watch the series finale.
The whole ''series finale'' thing threw me off as I wasn't sure if this was really the last season, according to the very reliable internet, it is not.
We have known Bart Simpson to be 10 years old for the past 35 seasons, making an episode of him turning 11 sounds like a good idea, but who knows why on earth they had to drag Conan in and make it into a whole awards show. What a shame.
This episode could have been much better. Honestly it is beyond me how this episode got such a good rating.

This is the most meta episode to date and I'm really happy with how it came out, and it's definitely going down as my all time favorite in the modern era. I have gotten more laughs out of this than any of the latest episodes (which have been decent and heartwarming, don't get me wrong! But they were missing witty writing moments that could've elevated the episodes).
This episode has everything I missed about older era episodes. Actually witty and relevant commentary, brilliant satire and parodies on predictable TV tropes, and it never had a single boring moment. Everything was quotable also. And more importantly, out of all the headliner episodes this one was the funniest viewer engagement bait episode by far. Awesome episode overall!

How is this The Simpsons? It's not. For a very long time The Simpsons has watered down to a complete garbage and unfunny animated series that has seen its end many times over.
They need to end this series because it's no longer the relatable loveable and extremely funny cartoon with its genius writing and gags, it is instead the complete opposite.
FYI, I have not seen a Simpsons episode past Season 20, but I decided to watch this one just to see what Modern Simpsons was like, well I got my answer.
It's time for The Simpsons to end, 36 seasons was simply absurd for the quality that we're getting.

I'm sorry, but this episode was terrible.
Before I talk about the episode, I just want to mention that the animation of the show is also very bad nowadays, it went from pretty stilted, to just weird and unnatural looking, like it feels so off looking.
Now onto why I think the episode is pretty terrible.
I get they wanted to trick fans into thinking it would be "The Last Ever Simpsons Episode" while they parody sitcom finales, and jab at how soulless AI is. But it didn't really work for me, mainly because I don't really like how meta these episodes of the show are written, it's a gimmick I feel is overused now to make people talk about the series again.
A lot of scenes in this episode feel like they want to make you go "OH, I REMEMBER THAT CHARACTER/CELEBRITY!" from a past episode, it's not fun, it's really just nostalgia bait.
Overall, I'm not a fan of this episode, if you enjoy it, then good for you.
