The Chronicles of 4.5 Gang, helmed by the visionary director Krishand, stands out as one of the finest series to emerge from South India. Having watched every episode, I can confidently say it's a masterpiece that kept me hooked from start to finish. The series strikes a perfect balance of comedy, mass appeal, romance, and action, delivering a rollercoaster of emotions that feels both entertaining and refreshing.
The screenplay is nothing short of superb, with Krishand's non-linear storytelling leaving me in awe. The way the narrative flows, weaving together seemingly disjointed threads into a cohesive and mind-blowing climax, showcases his genius as a storyteller. Each twist and turn kept me engaged, making it a standout feature of the series.
The visuals, crafted by DOP Vishnu Prabhakar, are a treat to watch-mind-blowing in their detail and cinematography, elevating every scene with stunning frames that perfectly complement the story. The performances are commendable with remarkable consistency: Vishnu Agastya, Prasanth Alexander, Jagadeesh, Sanju Shivram, Niranj Maniyanpilla Raju, Sreenath Babu, Shambhu Menon, Rahul Rajagopal, Sachin Joseph, Anoop, Darshana Rajendran, and Santhy Balachandran all deliver strongly, bringing depth and charisma to their roles. Their chemistry makes each moment unforgettable.
The music track is another highlight, backing the narrative with an immersive and powerful soundtrack. The compositions enhance the mood, whether it's the light-hearted comedy or the intense action sequences, adding an extra layer of brilliance to the series.
However, the series has been poorly promoted, which is a shame as it deserves much bigger audience.
Overall, The Chronicles of 4.5 Gang is a must-watch, blending entertainment with exceptional craftsmanship. Krishand has truly outdone himself, this series remains a testament to the rising quality of Malayalam content. Hope to see a Season 2.

Rating - 3.75/5
A riveting gangster action adventurous drama series treated through a compelling narrative and epic performances.
The plot of the story revolves around 5 small town colony boys from Thiruvanchipuram resorting to illegal business/syndicates in thirst for honour and power and the extraordinary events that unfolds through their life forms the base for the web series.
Krishand & Rahul has drafted the screenplay so brilliantly that the story that could have deviated into a slow paced documentary drama was elevated to a mockumentary with wholesome package of emotions, revenge, brotherhood, action, revenge, betrayal, romance & nostalgic events covered in dark humour and incredible background scores making it an icing on the cake sustaining the filmmakers signature template underneath. Krishand compared to his previous outings has incorporated commercial elements into the story to appeal a larger audience through the story. He has also blended the personal, cultural, social & political dimensions of the 4.5 gang through interesting events from their childhood to adulthood through a sensational narration. The best part of the web series is that Krishand will pull you into the story loop travelling with the emotions and adventures of the 4.5 gang.
Hats off to the casting director Sanup Padaveedan for assembling the best perfomers who have dealt the Trivandrum slang so naturally. Sanju, Rahul Rajagopal, Vishnu Agasthya, Sreenath Babu & Anoop Mohandas are the real showstealers of the story and nailed it with their impeccable performances. Niranj, Darshana, Prashant, Sachin, Shambhu,Rani Indrayani, Sai Gayathri, Hakimsha & Fahim gave incredible delivery. The veterans gang including Indrans,Jagadeesh & Vijayaraghavan excelled in their character performances.
Kudos to behind the screen talents especially the DOP Vishnu Prabhakar, editor Sasikumar,Music & scores by Sooraj/Varkey, Art director Hamza, Makeup man Arshad Varkala & colorist Arjun for their effortless contributions.
A must watch web series that deserves a binge watch on a single go promising a quality content.
