Digital Playground's "The Shakedown" concerns a hedonistic couple played by Natasha Nice and Mick Blue, whose affinity for role-playing leads to crime and unsavory results. It's watchable porn filler, thanks to Nice's amazing body and sexuality, plus co-star Luna Star's fiery approach to sex performance, but the uncredited (as usual) scriptwriter plus hack director Marvin Love fail to create a credible or involving story.
Loyal Digital Playground subscribers are left with another glossy-looking porn feature, doled out in four weekly installments, but deserve better. The late Robby D made dozens of fun (if uninspired) rom-coms for the label and of course DP was famous for some huge, ambitious hits like "Pirates", its sequel and the Island Fever series with Tera Patrick. I'm afraid the audience is now the target of a shakedown.
