An entertaining and formulaic sequel that could have been much better
As a longtime fan of the Jurassic saga, Jurassic World: Rebirth left me with mixed feelings. Visually, it's a delight: Gareth Edwards' direction and cinematography are top-notch. The dinosaurs look huge and majestic, especially in action scenes like the encounter between the Mosasaurus and the Spinosaurus, the T. Rex chase in the river, and the arrival of the Titanosaurs, all set to the iconic soundtrack. These moments truly transport you.
Unfortunately, the script doesn't live up to the visuals. The dialogue feels forced or overly simplistic at times. Certain moments border on the ridiculous. The beloved raptors are barely present, which I found a disservice. The CGI falters at times, and the final act is rushed and disappointing. The D-Rex hybrid had potential, but ends up being forgettable.
Compared to Fallen Kingdom and Dominion, it feels like a slight improvement, but it still lacks a solid narrative. I left the theater excited by the action but emotionally unsatisfied.
