This show keeps surprising every single week. Of course with the banger of an episode that episode 5 was, this week's ep had a lot to live up to. And it did not disappoint. We got the return of an important character with specific beliefs and morals who never went out of character and showed us what humanity actually stand for. Not only that but we got the continuation to Storm's arc which also came to a beautiful closure and she got a vast upgrade. My only complaint is that we didn't get much info about the consequences episode's 5 cliffhanger has had on the world and of course the X-men themselves. However we did learn who's behind it and my only guess is that by the time the season has ended, we will talk about one of the greatest 1st season of a show in TV history.
This is not necessarily a secret, if you were someone who watched the original '90s animated show. In the final episode, Charles Xavier is critically wounded in a terrorist attack by Henry Gyrich. Lying on his deathbed, and lacking the technology to save him, Jean Gray uses her telepathy to contact Lilandra of the Shi'Ar. She explains that while they have the technology to save him, he could never return to Earth. So, for context, the X-Men knew that Xavier was technically not dead, but made peace with the thought that they were never going to see him again.
In spite of some of the other reviews, this episode was far from filler.

After last weeks INSANE episode, I kinda knew that this episode would not reach the same level! However this was still a great and enjoyable story, even if it didn't pick up where the previous one left off!
This episode was the first to really introduce the cosmic elements and the return of a certain character! I am very excited to see where this goes! It felt like the introduction to something that will play a larger role later on! Some great philosophies of co-excistence and how those witt power, always feel like they have the right to use it, for their own personal needs!
Storm also gets some great moments and scenes! I was really hyped amd excited at one point! Sometimes the toughest challenge, provides the greatest reward!
Now the end shows us that things could get very serious!

I'm not just hating on the show, there is a DRAMATIC difference between episodes in terms of writing quality. Episodes 1 & 2 were enjoyable, 3 was fantastic, 4 was time I'll never get back, and 5 was mundane until it concluded with one of the most powerful moments in animated tv history. And now we're back to Storm and... Professor X? Did I miss something?
I don't understand the show's fixation on romances. I understand that love story subplots were always part of X-Men, but the show runners are putting a lot of emphasis on the soap opera elements for this iteration of the franchise. It's in literally every episode, so maybe I'm experiencing the Mandela Effect in thinking that the 90's kids show focused more on action than the development of romantic relationships between characters. Either way, I'm not interested in seeing Professor X run through Brie Larson's singing planet storyline from 'The Marvels'.
The resolution of Stom's story is probably the high point of the episode, but the entire thing seemed kind of unnecessary in the first place since we've already thoroughly explored the "mutant gets cured of powers" premise 30 years ago in the series and 18 years ago in the movies. She had to be defeated and overcome obstacles to build herself up, so that was a little different, and good in terms of character development. I liked the speech Professor X gave towards the end. ...but then the big cliff hanger was reminding the audience of the legitimately awesome cliffhanger in episode 5, followed by teasing a villain that we've already seen defeated in a previous episode.
'Lifedeath-Part 2' isn't as bad as 'Motendo', but it's definitely one of the weakest episodes of the series. However given the show's track record, there will probably be at least one more banger of an episode before it's over, so I'm not throwing in the towel yet. Now give me your hate, Marvel stans!

Important and mildly interesting but lowk a boring episode, could've been better at showing storms emotions and professor's x situation in a way we can resonate w him a bit more, before he uses his psychic abilities. The storm storyline was boring and although important i didn't really care about it. Gladiator carried the battles.
