This is the moment I have anticipated since 2012; Epic Mickey Rebrushed has surpassed all my expectations and has emerged as one of the most remarkable gaming experiences I have encountered. The original Epic Mickey held significant meaning during my childhood, serving as a catalyst that ignited my passion for interactive storytelling and engaging gameplay. The joy and nostalgia I felt while playing that original title were profound, and the announcement of a remaster had me filled with excitement and hope for a revival of that magic.
It is truly astounding to witness this remastered version receiving the recognition and attention it so rightly deserves. The enhancements made in Epic Mickey Rebrushed are not merely cosmetic but represent a thoughtful reimagining that reflects a deep understanding of the original's essence while addressing its shortcomings. The gameplay mechanics have been refined, the graphics have been beautifully updated, and the overall experience has been polished to a high shine, ensuring that both returning fans and newcomers alike can appreciate the artistry and innovation behind it.
Feeling the nostalgia as I play this remaster is an incredible experience that brings back the joy of my youth. The developers have successfully captured the heart of what made the original game so special and have built upon that foundation with improved controls, richer environments, and a more immersive narrative. It is rewarding to see a beloved title receive the careful attention it deserves, transforming it into a modern masterpiece that resonates with both long-time fans and a new audience.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to those who worked tirelessly to bring this remaster to life, as it is more than just a game; it is a tribute to a cherished part of my childhood. Epic Mickey Rebrushed encapsulates everything I had hoped for and more, and I am deeply appreciative of the opportunity to revisit this enchanting world in a way that feels fresh and exhilarating. Thank you for creating a remarkable experience that honors the past while embracing the future.

After all these years, 'Epic Mickey' is finally accessible to people who do not own a Wii! It's wonderful that this game-and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit-are getting a second chance to reach audiences.
Though I personally never played the original release, if it was anything like the 2012 sequel, then this remake clearly made several crucial quality-of-life upgrades. The camera in particular is a vast improvement. The dash and ground-pound abilities were also welcome additions that made the game much more fun to play.
Most of the complaints I have only apply to the original game and are not the fault of Purple Lamp, as the studio stayed true to the source material and only deviated from it when necessary (which veterans of this series will very much appreciate). The gameplay is therefore somewhat dated, but not necessarily in a negative way. Missable content is the main issue, as it makes the game somewhat tedious, but that's just a consequence of the time in which the game was originally made. New Game + definitely helped remedy this somewhat, compromising between the game as it was initially made and the standards and conventions of more modern game design.
My only real complaint about this release is that New Game + seems to overwrite the original save slot instead of occupying a new one, which is very inconvenient for completionists. In my case, there were several pieces of concept art available for purchase in-game that I had planned to nab after inspecting New Game + that I couldn't access. Still, it's a solid game that was a delight to play.
I don't know if a remake of the second game is in the cards, but if it is, I very much look forward to seeing how Purple Lamp breathes new life into it, since they did so well with the first one! The original game was a labor of love, and it's great to see that the remake is, too.

This game is amazing, great job THQ Nordic, the controls are smooth and nice, you can tell the game's graphics made a jump from 480p Wii graphics to 4K HDR Unreal engine type graphics, the gameplay is fun and the controls make the experience better not having to use motion controls anymore. The achievements on Xbox are nice, giving you a beginner's type of unlocking. The game is great and I've been an epic Mickey fan since early this year. The gameplay is really satisfying now in HD, put you Wii back in the box in the basement and pull out your PS5 or Series S, this is definitely a must buy if you played the classics.
