This 2024 sequel directed and written by Teeweetah Wantha claimed that this film was inspired by a Thai novelist, Brittanon. But after viewing action-horror epic, it resonated too much, resemblance of the Evil Dead franchise. Starting with the lead character, "Yak" helmed by Thai ex-teen sweetheart, Nadech Kugimiya looking all beefcake via a Bruce Campbell flair.
The production was quite good with CGI gore and optical effects. There's abit of off-beat humor that doesn't work go over-the-top like Campbell in "Evil Dead II" or "Army of Darkness". This inspired (or rip-off) story replaced the Necromon book and forest demonic possession synching up with Thai folklore . Its sequel begins with an ancient witch who tied (since the late 1800s invited possession) with a near dead soldier, cursing his future family generations.
Then the film continues with the first "Tee Yod" story of "Yak's" family trying to mourn their loss to the witch and rebuilding themselves in the sequel. Losing his sister, "Yam", "Yak" begins to form a group of men (with cursed families) willing to fight the witch and her possessions to their deaths.
The film is set in the 70s and in a rural Thai farmland setting, then all action starts ala Evil Dead style. The witch can get a bit tiresome with the jump scare entries. If ignoring her tackiness, the film can carry throughout to the end where the whole family (imagine an intergenerational group of 10) fighting ancient sorcery - pure fun!
Of course it's recommended to view the first film, which is a long, slow moving story. The sequel takes it up a notch for extreme action! And yes, after a viewing one see Kugimiya as "Yak" can be considered eye candy - dare one say - far better than Campbell's physique. No wonder Kugimiya's teen idol past is probably a total cash-in for this series. These films were received with much popularity in Thailand. The natural setting gives to the idea of folk horror along with a decent soundtrack.

Wait..6.8 rating? Are you guys nut? This piece is masterpiece. You don't find horror ending more satisfying than this.
The sound effect for this movie is first class, don't watch on your cheepo laptop and tv speaker if you stream this. Get a proper home theater or atleast decent headphones or else you don't do justice for this movie.
The ending you'll never find in any horror story and movie. Bravo to Mr. Director.
One thing i think this movie could improve is to put more intense scene of that satisfying ending of that ghoul..more ***** in the face you know. Make it the scene satisfying to the max.

While I was not a particular fan of the 2023 movie "Tee Yod", I still opted to give the 2024 sequel "Tee Yod 2" (aka "Death Whisperer 2") a chance, on account of it being a movie that I had not already seen, and since it was an Asian horror movie. But I have to be honest, that I sat down to watch the movie with zero expectations, as the first movie was pretty bad.
The storyline in the movie was okay. Sure, it wasn't a particularly scary movie, but it was watchable. Though it is hardly a movie that warrants more than a single viewing.
The only familiar face on the cast list for me was actor Nadech Kugimiya, because he was also in the first movie. The acting performances in "Tee Yod 2" were good, though.
The effects in the movie were fair, which certainly counted for something and added to the overall enjoyment of the movie.
While "Tee Yod 2" was by no means a stellar movie, it was at least better than its predecessor. But this is hardly a memorable moment in Thai horror cinema.
My rating of director Taweewat Wantha's 2024 movie "Tee Yod 2" lands on a four out of ten stars.

The story is interesting and good but I still choose season 1 as the best, the first season while watching I could feel the tension and fear of all the characters in the film. In season 2, I felt less excited while watching, more like who is this guy? Who's that? Why is that the story and yes now I am curious about the story of the woman in black. I think some of the men who died at the beginning weren't really necessary, and am I the only one who felt this film felt very fast, but I liked the ending. The little girl who plays Yee is very clever, I love heracting. I had a bit of a heart attack when the yak was shot and I thought the ending would be bad.
It's a thoroughly entertaining mix of horror and action, with just the right amount of tongue-in-cheek (pun intended) comedy in the mix. On the eve of his sister's wedding ghost adventurer Yak Baggins and some allies enter a cursed forest to track down a powerful entity that has nefarious plans for his family. The movie is nicely directed and generally well-paced (although the third act drags a bit.) The (subtitled) dialogue is crisp and efficient - I didn't see the first installment but I had no trouble figuring out what was going on in this sequel. The graphic violence, horror imagery and action toe the perfect line between "brutal" and "hyperbolic to the point of parody." Apparently the first Evil Dead and The Shining were influences and it shows, although thankfully this movie isn't just a ripoff or a parody. Overall it's fun and extremely well done.
