Andhera

It's a kind of slow burn horror mixed with sci-fi, and it sounds nice, isn't it? But... they were going fine with the starting episodes; then it begins to feel a bit drawn out. There are a few jump scares as well. Anyway, it's a good watch if you are into horror. Also, the leads did their job well..

The show starts strong-Surveen Chawla steals every scene, and Prajakta Koli holds up alright-but honestly, the rest of the cast feels weak. It's inspired by Stranger Things vibes, and the creepy mood and visuals in early episodes are great. But it slows down, piles on subplots, and ends without a satisfying conclusion. Still, I binge-watched the whole thing in a day. Better than most OTT horror attempts.

Well, they've clearly tried to give Stranger Things an Indian touch, but after watching so many Hollywood series in this genre, this one just doesn't match up. The main character feels dull and unconvincing. There are unnecessary scenes (like the forced lesbian subplot) that add nothing to the story.

The dialogues are poorly written - one moment the character is speaking English, and the very next line in Hindi. At least maintain some consistency. The mix of sci-fi and horror just doesn't blend well here.

On the positive side, the visual effects and VFX are impressive - no doubt about that. Sadly, good visuals can't save weak storytelling.

Andhera is a mood-rich, visually arresting supernatural thriller that starts strong with psychological complexity and an evocative setting. Its performances-especially by Priya Bapat and Prajakta Koli-anchor the show even as some threads become scattered. Pranay Pachauri, though playing a quieter role, contributes a moody resonance that's essential to the story's eerie pull.

It would have been far more compelling and apt if the series had revolved around a four-dimensional central theme, using the same subplots, visual effects, and settings:

1. Andhera - the darkness of depression, born from the hidden guilt within a person.

2. How it slowly grips and engulfs an individual.

3. How a few unscrupulous people exploit this vulnerability.

4. And finally, the only way out - to confront it with the inner light that can dispel even the darkest shadows of the past.

If you appreciate slow-burn horror with a touch of noir and are patient with pacing and narrative detours, Andhera is worth immersing yourself in. Just temper expectations for neat resolutions-and enjoy the ambiance.

Andhera on prime is a solid pick for me this week series revolves around dark shadow who controls human and their families and whoever comes in their way is been vanished or murdered. I love the role of all characters especially surveen chawla as therapist falls in love with Police officer overall all 8 epiadoes are on the edge and must watch.
