Just like most series, they start well, suck you in and then pummel you with absolute crap knowing you will suffer it just to see the ending. This episode starts silly, gets ridiculous and then turns into a parody. The suspension of disbelief is much needed here. Reality goes out of the window very early on.
There is a mash of so many incredulous storylines that you almost give up the will to care. The pace it bounces from one cliche plot to another gets incredibly comical. What was once serious, moody and suspenseful, was now a race against time to squeeze in every worn out farce you can think of.
The race to save the kidnapped was the last straw. Either he owned a Time Machine, or was light speed fast, or had an endless supply of bullets, or was just the victim of painfully awful writing.
This episode was awful. No fake good review is going to change that. Very little hope of a recovery. Only three episodes left to prove me wrong...

After giving all preceding episodes a "9", this one is very disappointing.
The storyline becomes very far-fetched and not believable. I am not going to say more about that, as I don't want to have to press the Spoiler button.
As others have written, there are a number of goofs and the acting by Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan, very much over the top. The role played by Joanne Froggatt - supposedly an intelligent woman, becomes stupid and therefore unbelievable.
One other point: I live around the corner from Ritchie Stevenson's house in this series and pass it every day. In January (2025), the road was closed several times whilst filming took place, causing great inconvenience to all in the area. It's just off the A1 in North-west London.

I don't normally write reviews but then again I don't often look forward to watching the next episode of a series as much as I do this series so I thought I owed it to them. It's just a fantastically entertaining show but then again I am a fan of Guy Ritchie. He manages to create a whole world populated by, slightly over the top, but rememberable characters. I always feel totally immersed in a Guy Ritchie world and I don't care if it is "unbelievable" as some of those here criticizing, I don't want believable, I want Guy Ritchie's unique vision of reality. I realize it might not be to everyone's taste but I sure love it.

This episode was so good I had to give a rare 10!
Burl Ives, as Big Daddy in 'Cat On A Hot Tin Roof' says: "There ain't nothin' more powerful than the odor of mendacity! You can smell it. It smells like death." There is mendacity afoot in the House of Harrigan, and it's coming from inside the house.
Director Lawrence Gough and writer/series creator Ronan Bennett delivered an absolute gem. The pace of this episode never slows. Intrigue abounds. Treachery is everywhere. Double crosses. Triple crosses!
Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren, once again, shine. They're playing Shakespeare. She is Iago to his King Lear.

After the first couple of slow episodes, I had really got into this show but then along comes this over the top episode with Tom Hardy turning into Tom Cruise and taking on an army of hard men on his own.
The show despite being glam and gritty had at least been credible but this really was just overstepping the mark.
On top of that, despite the gangs knowing everyone inside out, noone knew who Jan's friend was.
Conrad if not Harry himself, would have someone on the inside with the police and would have made the aware of whom Jan was associating with.
A quality episode but please keep it real.

- TriviaJordi Mollà uses his native Barcelona accent when speaking Spanish instead of a Mexican accent, as he's playing the narco Jaime López.
- ErroresThe scenes in Antwerp and outside the big house were filmed in winter as was looking out of the bedroom at the helicopter landing but the scenes looking out from the big hall show the trees as having leaves.
