It was OK. Morgan is still violently annoying (like it's other people's fault you can't sleep? Like you're more sensitive than detectives, who 'drift off easily' during a case?), but it was clearer that she gave value no one else could this time. I had to laugh when her ex-husband said 'half your brain is better than most people on their best day', because my brilliant mom was told exactly that when she became obsessed with being mentally slower than usual due to a brain tumor that was spreading!

At the risk of sounding obsessive, I couldn't look away from Morgan's mouth, because her lips looked both bigger and looser (not a compliment, and I don't mean 'loose lips' in the figurative sense) than they used to. In last week's episode.

Maybe don't get any work done between episodes? It's super-distracting.

The episode is a thrilling and suspenseful one, with high stakes and a dark atmosphere. The characters Morgan and Karadec are superb together, and their mutual respect develops well. The episode begins with two young girls being found in the trunk of a car, and Morgan is about to receive her LAPD badge. However, she must sign terms and conditions to access the evidence locker. A woman enters the restroom and they bond, revealing that her daughters are missing and their father hasn't been in touch. Morgan promises to find them, but it is revealed that their father, Wendell, is her ex-husband and they are in a divorce. Wendell, once an environmentalist, turned "radical" and wanted to live off the grid with the girls. The squad heads to Wendell's house, where they find the place in disarray, with a mess kitchen table, sink, and abandoned bunny Ellie's. Morgan discovers Wendell's body in the greenhouse, increasing the race to find the girls. Karadec issues an AMBER Alert, and they suspect that if the girls were taken by a stranger, the odds of finding them drop significantly (42%). They investigate Mr. Ashford, Mia's hotelier father, who may be involved in the ransom scheme, and find out Wendell had been arguing with a woman shortly before his death. Morgan uncovers clues while dusting a cabinet at the Ashford mansion, revealing that Wendell adored his daughters and had left Mr. Ashford's office before his death. A CPS report full of lies becomes a focal point, and Sarah Keller, the CPS officer who wrote the report, is struggling for money. Wendell was apparently sitting on evidence that Ashford had bribed others to push his projects through. As evidence mounts against John Ashford, they go to the mansion to question him. Curtis, a driver, tries to supply an alibi but falls apart. Ashford was heavily opposed to eco-warriors like Wendell and had bribed judges to build on protected land. As they catch the "prepaid phone guy," he doesn't have the girls, but he does reveal that Mia was the woman arguing with Wendell at his house. Morgan becomes emotional, especially when she returns home and shares a tender moment with Ava and Elliot. As a ransom drop is set, Karadec instructs Morgan to wait nearby. As suspects dwindle, the kidnapper's identity becomes more apparent. A tense chase ensues, and though Karadec fires a shot, the suspect escapes. The car goes up in flames, but the girls aren't in the car. After the fire is out, Morgan notices the radio tuned to a horse betting station, leading her to realize that Curtis is the kidnapper.

Complaining of insomnia, she wore the same godawful snake skin outfit how many days in a row? I HATE how the costuming takes me out of the show every single scene. BTW, her version of vintage would be hugely pricey. If she's a female Sherlock, with a genius IQ and hyper-perceptivity, why does she need to dress like a hooker on "Baretta?" Like with "Elsbeth," these quirky femme Columbo clones are all costumes and no characterization. Pisses me right off: material and actors are great. Costumes are distracting and insulting. Also, all the yelling because she's a MOM and thinks like a MOM! They have barely developed that background whatsoever, despite an underused Taran Killam.

It is a lie that the police have to wait twenty four hours to search for a missing person. This myth perpetuated by TV causes people not to report people that are missing and causes a delay to they're being found. This causes many victims and innocent people to be hurt because their family and friends think they have to wait for twenty four hours when they could report it immediately and maybe find their loved ones. I do really like this show, but I can not abide people getting hurt for some lazy writing. Now I have to type some lazy writing because I still need 89 characters for my review. 321.
