In my experience it's never a good thing to have the writer also direct. When you add acting into
the equation, you're doomed. One Victor Soares played the hat trick here. His direction was made easier by relying on a variation of the "found footage" genre, here using a "livestream" as his crutch... or in this case his walker.
His "hyper-manic Brazilian" character was especially annoying and would've been the low point, acting-wise in most no-budget movies, but here there were even more blatant offenders.
The main character was played by Sarah Moliski, it was her live feed and she was the master, or mistress, of ceremonies. Another absolutely spastic role of overacting and that Gen Z/Millennial sort of attitude that fills Tik-Tok and YouTube with their willful ignorance and airheaded know-it-all-ness. Oh, she plays it to perfection and I'll grant that her character felt legit. I hope she's nothing like that in real life. But the death of her character, like that of Soares, was not lamentable. More likely cathartic.
Mao Sun played a wannabe actor and funnily enough, he was the least talented thespian of a weak bunch. He wasn't asked for much and yet still struggled.
But the main problem was the writing. It really was pedestrian. Examples are rife, you'll see.
The location was cool and could've been much better utilized. It's a shame the writer/director/actor's ego got in the way. Jack of all trades, master of none
Add this together with a zero budget and, well, you're lucky you emerged with four stars from this viewer.

Of course I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie. And despite it being a 'found footage' movie about social media 'influencers', then I will say that the acting performances were actually fair.
Writer Victor Soares certainly had a fair enough idea for the concept of the storyline and script, just a shame that it was made as a 'found footage' movie and focusing on social media freeloaders. So yeah, in my opinion, if Victor Soares had opted for a properly filmed movie and changed the characters away from narcissistic social media 'influencers' to regular people, then the movie would have been a whole other level of enjoyment. But as it was, then the movie stood a snowball's chance in Hell of winning me over.
"Livestream" was not a great movie to sit through, because I absolutely loathe 'found footage' movies and social media 'influencers'. And this movie's theme was a combination of those two things, so I was not in for an evening of stellar entertainment here. This is definitely not a movie that will grace my screen a second time.
If you enjoy horror movies, then I would not recommend you to waste 91 minutes on watching "Livestream". Some of us literally suffered through this ordeal, so you don't have to; you're quite welcome.
I am sorry, but hand-held camera footage and narcissistic social media freeloaders just doesn't cut it for me. And the constant flood of messages from the viewers was a major nuisance, as it often stole focus from the happenings on the screen.
My rating of writer and director Victor Soares's 2025 movie "Livestream" lands on a very generous two out of ten stars.

It's not worth the watch. Really bad acting, but I can't tell if it was the actors fault or the writing was so bad that even the best actors would make this a bad movie. I don't know why people make "horror" and throw out second-grade common sense and force them to make and do stupid, non-realistic things throughout the movie. There are several moments that are stretched way too long for no reason, just to fill up the space to make it a longer movie. I guess their motivation was the Blair Witch Project, but they missed by a long shot. My suggestion is to actually rewatch what you made and be honest with yourself and ask the question, Would I rewatch this? Because the answer would be no. I will say the actor who was signing was on point a very good signer. The only thing in the movie that was enjoyable.
PLEASE DO NOT waste your time. I finished this movie so you dont have to. 2 minutes in I wanted to change it but I love bad movies too. But this one here had no redeeming factors. I'm not even trying to be harsh but this is easily one of the worst movies this year if not Ive ever seen. So shout out to Victor Soares for making a whole waste of an hour & a half. You can basically call whats gonna happen the whole time. No surprises. Not realistic at all. Horrible acting all around. The live stream would have been banned or left behind. Cops would have showed up so much earlier. Magically the same cop because they couldnt pay for more then one. I truly believe I could make a better movie with a 0 dollar budget & real crack heads that I found. I hope to God this is the lowest review & rating I get because I don't know how it could get worse.
This is one of the worst moves I've ever had the displeasure of watching, though I could not watch till the end.
The entire movie consists of excruciatingly over-acted performances; the "characters" were grievously annoying and unlikeable. The synopsis has it that livestreamers embark on a haunted house challenge. Where did they suck that information from? Nothing in this "movie" suggested this. Just screaming, put-on performances trying to conceal the fact that herein lies no talent of any kind. I was so overjoyed that they all got their asses handed to them. They deserved it.
Utter, utter trash, in every conceivable way.
