Pyralis

Along with the pilot, this is the best episode of the show so far. Not perfect, but the plot is moving forward and we finally get to see a demon actually using his supernatural powers, instead of trying to fight Hub in an unarmed combat, like in all of the previous episodes.

There are some less than perfect moments, like nobody in the town noticing or caring about a huge hole that appears out of nowhere and seemingly goes to the center of the Earth.

I still think that the episodes being so short is doing the show a disservice. This episode, without the end credits is just 22 minutes long, and the other episodes are of similar length. While that is ok for a sitcom, it is not enough for a show of this kind, because there is just not enough time to develop the world and lore.

Hopefully, the finale will be at least as good as this episode.

Hub new mission is to seek out a powerful demon called Pyralis. It has possessed a child.

Ultimately Pyralis could unleash armageddon if it is not stopped. Hub brings his posse with him to deal with Pyralis, but Midge is not strong enough.

Lucky meanwhile thinks he will be doing god's work in stopping Hub. Lucky thinks he has found his true purpose.

Hub realises that he might have been the catalyst for all the demons emerging in this town. The death of Cheryl is behind all this.

At least Hub's role with the demons is made clear. Although he cannot tell his ex wife exactly what he did. It was amusing to see Lucky finding god.

This episode managed to buck the trend of previous episodes being a bit too samey.
