I love the show so far, but as a Dominican myself (living in NY) it's very disappointing to hear the cast speaking Spanish when (1) clearly English is their mother tongue (in most cases), so in NY they would be speaking English-why force the Spanish in?, (2) they, except for her, are clearly not Dominicans (although in all fairness they try to speak like Dominicans, but fail often)-they're Latinos clearly from other places-why force this whole Dominican narrative if you're not going to be authentic?, and (3) awfully fail at portraying Dominicans by relying on typical "Latino" (or Mexican) stereotypes: kids playing soccer, the whole aesthetic... and the lady talking about back in the day being forced to sell drugs "in Santiago"-it's almost impossible that a girl like that would be selling drugs in Santiago-it's not Sinaloa, Mexico. The reasons a Dom migrates to the U. S. are very different. She's the best at "Dominicaning" but overall the whole thing is VERY bad, an unforced error, and I hate it. Otherwise, loving the show, really!
