I loved this. There's hardly any plot, but the way I see it, the previous seasons have done the heavy lifting as far as character work, and now we are reaping the benefits. This is the exact right moment in this show where you could get away with an episode like this. It's like that honeymoon period in a relationship where you're just happy to be around the other person. We're literally just watching these people work, and yet I can't look away. There's enough tension bubbling under the surface to maintain a sense of stakes, and the way it's all cut up and shot is beyond impressive. I'm not sure how the rest of the season will turn out (some of the conflict in episode 2 felt forced, not gonna lie), but so far there have been two very interesting standalone episodes that are like visual and auditory crack to take in. Very pleasing to the eye and ear.
Gesamtkunstwerk is a synthesis of the arts to create a (theorized) perfect aesthetic. Is a rare term these days. Used primarily in reference to the works of Richard Wagner, elements of this concept can be found today; most notably, I would argue, in the films of Stanley Kubrick, but also art as varied as My Chemical Romance and the architecture of Antoni Gaudi
The visuals, the colors, the writing, the acting, the music... everything about this episode is just beautiful. Probably my favorite episode so far and certainly an episode I'll remember alongside the all-time greats.
I don't have much more to say than that.

It's hard watching a plane crash.
He's become a psychopath overnight because he got locked in the fridge.
Look, he's had a terrible childhood with an insane family and is a mess, but for 3 seasons he was ALSO a good guy who we wanted to see win. He's no longer a good guy and i Wouldn't mind if he fails - because he's being an idiot.
It's hard the way they film it in hellish smash cuts of destruction of this restaurant that we all care about. We're watching Carm ruin all of it due to emotional immaturity. That's hard to witness!
And it's also a bit sad no one can rein him in. The writers have made the financers and everyone around him just endlessly yelling. Why can't Unc or the sister just take his CC away??? Because the writers want the drahmah
Fair enough but I fast forwarded through the entire episode and still Know everything that happened.

Episode 3 of The Bear season 3 is a different dimension entirely. It's not about fun or joy; you won't find yourself laughing. Instead, the episode masterfully pulls you into the kitchen, making you feel the palpable pressure and stress. As a viewer, you wouldn't expect to feel this level of intensity, but this episode makes it happen. It begins with small cracks, little leaks of tension, which steadily grow until, by the end, the stress and pressure completely flood you, almost consuming you. You don't just intellectually understand how hard it is to run a Michelin-star restaurant; you viscerally experience it. It's a depiction that is both painful and wonderfully executed at the very same time.
This episode really captures just how it feels to run a restaurant and the stress and pressure of it, cause each and every day has to be perfect and flawless, while still making it a bussiness where you get some profit in the end!
Season 2 was all about them getting their restaurant, their dream! Now we get to see what It means to not only keep their dream, but if it is possible to make it better!
This episode is intense at times and very stressfull, and you really get the sense of it is when your head has to deal with a hundred different things all at once and the fact that you dont have time to make any mistakes! Its one of those episodes that will leave you overwhelmed ar the end!
While there is not much plot development the episode does establish a potential threat.. that they might not have enough money to keep it open forever!
OH and Marcus eulogy at the beginning! Beautifull emotional stuff! How it feels like when someone really sees you for what you are!
