I really enjoyed this short! The ating was great. It was captivating. I don't want to allude to any spoilers, so I'll just say I left thinking more about alcohol's impact on people and their family. You can really feel the characters fear and confusion from being in an AA meeting for the first time, and the commitment it takes to push through. Its a story line which I relate to, and I think could help people empathize. This short could easily be a full movie, and I look forward to see what the writers have planned for it. Exciting ending. I left wanting to see more! Highly reccomend, it's a fun thriller.
I had the honor of viewing Wreckless at an event on July 31st, and it was an experience that left a lasting impression. From the first frame, the film pulls you in with a sense of urgency and intrigue. Its pacing is perfectly judged - never slow, never rushed - keeping you engaged right up to the final moment.
Written and co-directed by Jennifer A. Goodman, who also stars as Lucy, Wreckless is a tight, character-driven thriller. Goodman's performance is compelling, balancing vulnerability with determination. She's supported by a talented ensemble - Amy Jean Johnson, Joe Caballero, and Erik Reedy - whose portrayals add authenticity and depth to the story.
Visually, the film benefits from Ryan Atkins' sharp cinematography, which uses framing and lighting to subtly amplify the suspense. The clean, deliberate editing and attention to production detail reflect Lakefront Pictures' reputation for delivering high-quality independent films.
The short has already made its mark on the festival circuit, with official selections at the Lake Michigan Film Festival and East Lansing Film Festival, as well as recognition in the Best Thriller category at multiple events. Audience reactions have been enthusiastic, with many praising exactly what stood out to me - its engaging pace, strong performances, and ability to make a big impact in a small runtime.
While its brevity means not every detail of the characters' backstories is explored, this works in the film's favor, maintaining mystery and tension. The result is a story that sticks with you long after it ends.
Wreckless proves that a short film can deliver both thrills and emotional resonance. If you have the chance to see it, take it you'll be hooked from start to finish.

I had the pleasure to get to see this on the big screen yesterday I was very impressed by the performance of the cast I really love the storyline and how the project really draws you to it I also love when films have twist to them and I feel this one had a very good twist. The actress, Jennifer Goodman never seems to shock me her performance as always amazing. I love all her work.

This was an amazing and moving piece on the struggles and consequences of dealing with alcohol addiction. This piece had an amazing message and was extremely well executed! I cannot recommend this enough, and you will want to watch it for how wonderfully it is made and for the twists and turns that the film has to offer! 10/10.
Wreckless is an amazing watch! The storyline moves, and keeps you hooked. For being a short film, it's jam packed with twist and turns that you don't see coming, but that keep the story fresh and elevated. The writing captures the audience's interest from the start and doesn't let them down.
The actors were believable and authentic. I think each one added an interesting perspective, supporting the dynamics of the lead's inner world. Lucy was played with vulnerability and strength, her final moment was... well you just gotta see it... but powerful.
Great project - I would absolutely recommend!
