It feels like we are ramping up this series and as if RTD is finally hitting his stride.

A really intriguing initial mystery (featuring a stand out performance from Rose Ayling-Ellis, would love to see more of her in DW) leads into some genuinely scary moments, an uncharacteristically high body count, and a plot twist that I didn't see coming until just before the reveal.

This episode had it all for me, including some so far limited development and proper acting from our new companion. If the doctor could just stop crying in every episode, that'd be a relief (we get it, you're the 'one who feels').

When I started watching this episode, I expected it to be a horror, as it was giving off those vibes from all the teasers. What I was not expecting was the twist in the episode.

There's so much tension in this episode, and it just left me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. The characters are pretty good, with the episode giving characters like Shaya enough time onscreen so that you can get invested in them.

The episode also leaves you with a lot of questions having to do with the season's story arc, and I really hope they're answered in a satisfying way at the end.

Not gonna say anymore because I don't want to spoil the twist or the ending for you. I highly recommend you see this for yourself, and I hope it leaves you on the edge of your seats like it did for me!

After sitting through the utter dross of Chibnall and limped through elements of series 1 of the return of RTD - this is it!! Finally, a storyline building on previous strengths which delivers on so many levels. For the first time since Tennants return and before that the end of Capaldi, I was hooked. This hit the buttons of what makes Dr Who. Great writing, thrills and swings of emotions. I am really hoping this is the beginning of a new level of quality and excitement. We have had to put up with utter rubbish now please RTD build on this moving forwards! This felt like Dr Who was finally back 😊

After the original feel of last week's episode, the show returned to, what I felt, was more classic Who. And boy, did it work!

Decent cold opening, not the biggest hook but from there the tension built. A good set up, bodies everywhere, different causes of death, no real explanation. Clearly the plot thickens, a few video snippets but nothing too telling, then the reveal and link back to previous Who. Didn't see it coming, really well done. Made sense, not shoe-horned in. Didn't kill the legacy of the referred to episode.

My main gripe with the new Disney-era Doctor, is that each story has been wrapped up in, what felt like, a rush and possibly too easily. This one was not the case and, I for one, found this refreshing and a very satisfying ending to a very strong episode.

Let's hope we get more like this!

The Doctor and Belinda get embroiled in a rescue mission alongside a small crew, to discover a single survivor.

Unbelievable, this was a superb episode, for my money the best in years, this really did have it all, it felt so fresh, yet familiar at the same time, I felt like I was transported back to the golden series, four.

I won't give away any spoilers here, but that twist, utterly phenomenal, never in my wildest imaginings did I see that coming, it worked incredibly well.

Tension and horror throughout, Russell you really nailed this one.

The music was phenomenal here, it played a huge part in driving forward the tension and menace, it took us right back to the early years.

It looked fantastic, superb special effects as have now become the norm.

Quality performances all round, every single person played their part well.

Rose Ayling-Ellis was tremendous here, I have purposely avoided any spoilers and casting notes, I was so excited to see her, she was fabulous. If you haven't seen Reunion in which she appears, please check it out.
