Bro i love this cuz first of all let me just get out and say this bro In episode 4 of Dexter: Original Sin, Dexter's past begins to unravel as he faces new challenges. As a young man, he struggles with his darker urges, trying to balance his moral compass with his need for vengeance. Meanwhile, his interactions with people around him-especially those close to his adoptive father-become more complicated. AND I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. Tensions rise as Dexter's actions start to create consequences he wasn't ready for, while his mysterious past catches up with him, pushing him deeper into his transformation.
I've raved on here already about the series, but I'm also a huge DM fan, so Dex finally gets a 10.
Loving the development of Deb and how Harry & his informant/CI deal with what's going on in the 70/80s decoration and filter. How Dexter develops is the obvious thrust of story, so how they've done the rest is really very good. The only criticism I have is that the series relies heavily on the characters rather than the story, or a balance therein. There's little flaws I notice which are to do with the stories rather than the main plot.
Really enjoyed this episode in particular. We gotta go wrong to go right sometimes.

Well... I do. It had an almost poetic way of reflecting onto the story about a psychopath, a human being having a monster inside him, when in the flashbacks Harry was talking to the kid Dexter in a dark shed, and the sunlight lit the half of their faces, the other side was pitch black. A beautiful way of suggesting everyone has a monster inside, a light side and a dark side, the way the narrative was told via dirty, grounded, almost naturalistic visuals mixed with playful, miami-life ones is what really make me miss the OG.
Now... do you also remember how boring the Season 3 was compared the previous two? Well, I do. We have already seen the most important outcomes of the possible situation Dexter can get in: almost getting caught, and that he almost gave himself up, and the latter seasons had little to say after that.
I'm watching episode 4... and I'm bored, still. I'm also having a feeling that I'm watching some CSI: Miami or something, an everyday crime TV show that you could watch anywhere since the early 2000s.
Where is the intriguing part of the hiding monster, and being slightly human, yet still something else? The mysticism about it, just like in the OG series? Where is that haunting aspect of the whole psychophath hiding amongst the normies thing? The dark pitch black side of the story? I still feel this is pointless to watch, but I still do, because... I'm waiting for that special something that might make sense out of all things this new series is showing here. And I don't want to talk about Patrick Wilson's portrayal anymore, there are just only some moments I feel his acting natural, organic, most of the times he is cosplaying, just like the others.
You know... while watching the OG series, it did feel like some high budget creation to which you can see how lots of work was put in. Here, there is also lots of work put into the project, but the execution ain't matching it at all. But most importantly... what is really left to say about Dexter's story? Is there any? I want the answers for that.

Loving the Harry storyline! The cast is killin it, the story is ramping, and this one leaves with a solid cliff hanger. Always a fun staple of the series. I might end up liking this season more than New Blood. We will see how things play out!! I am also digging the early 90s vibe. Just overall a cool show. And randomly, Patrick Dempseys character is awesome!! He plays the part well. I'm interested to see what they do with the villain of the season. Still many questions linger, but I'm sure things will be answered soon. Mad Dog is an entertaining character that reminds me of classic Dexter characters like Boyd or Lil Chino.

- TriviaIn the scene set outside Blockbusters, there is a Viaje a las estrellas VI: La tierra desconocida (1991) poster in the window. Christian Slater had a short cameo as the night-duty officer on the Excelsior in this film.
- ErroresNo matter how busy they are, a forensic technician intern, with only a week's worth of experience, would not be sent to process the crime scene of a potential homicide alone. If an intern was the only one to process a crime scene, their lack of experience and certification could easily be used by a defense attorney to challenge the veracity of the evidence gathered.
