    M99 intro

The best part was the Trinity music background. I like how they use some of the old scores from Daniel Licht. His music is what made the show from good to great. Christian Slater great to see him back. The new Dexter doesn't bring as much intensity as Michael C Hall. I hope they try to phase him in eventually. I could see this going for 3 to 4 more seasons if they brought him back. And where is the young Dokes?

The character playing Bautista is spot on.

I've been a huge Dexter fan watching it every Sunday night on Showtime. I hope this makes it more than one season. I can only see that if Michael C Hall returns. Born in blood.

    Cliche and poor writing

Scenes feel rapid paced. All of these episodes feel rushed, unlike the original Dexter series, where there was time to express a scene. Now everything feels like it was made for people who'd glance at their phone periodically.

The scene with the cop walking in an finding her favorite guitar was so incredibly expected that I said her exact line before she said it herself, which we all laughed at. There was no tension at all. I could have yawned.

When Dexter gets home, Harry is already going off on him and asks why Dexter didn't tell him what happened to Mad Dogg with the whole "when were you gonna tell me?!" spiel. Mind you Dexter just came back from ensuring his following of the code.

What was he gonna do? Break the code and call from a booth which would trade the call to the crime if they investigated his death?

Was Dexter supposed to notify him through carrier pigeon?

I could go on about how this series fails the original, but let's just end it there.

    Dexter Morgan

Happy new years guys 2025 new ep i dont know if its just me but im loving this new series. As a dexter fan I love seeing his origin and how he got to where he was. Last ep was a crazy cliffhanger. I wonder when dexter is gonna start using that tranquilizer and use blood slides. Well were probably gonna see before it ends hopefully lol. This weeks ep was good. Dexter had to clean up his kill room before the cops come. I dont really have any complains this week was a pretty good ep. BUT please stop with the smirk idk why but it looks soo LIKE goofy... im looking forward to next weeks ep I want this series to finally have a good ending for once PLEASE...

A Thrilling Return to Dexter's Roots - It Just Keeps Getting Better

As a long-time fan of Dexter, I was cautiously optimistic when Dexter: Original Sin was announced. Now, episode by episode, I can confidently say it's getting better and better. It's not just nostalgia-this show has genuinely captured the magic of the original series while building something fresh yet familiar.

Set once again in the vibrant, amazing streets of Miami, the show nails the atmosphere that made the original series so gripping. Miami Metro, the characters, the tension-everything feels right at home. The storytelling feels deliberate, carefully laying the groundwork while diving deep into Dexter's early psychological struggles, moral conflicts, and the forces shaping him into the iconic vigilante we know.

The character development in Original Sin is impressive. We get a more vulnerable yet dangerous Dexter, which adds layers to the already complex character. Each episode peels back a bit more, giving fans insight into his transformation while keeping the suspense tight. It's rare for a prequel to feel this authentic and thrilling.

Honestly, I'd love to see at least five full seasons of this before Dexter: Resurrection releases. There's so much potential in exploring Dexter's younger years, his training under Harry, and the early days of the Code. The pacing feels right, the writing strong, and the callbacks to the original series are tastefully done without over-relying on fan service.

For anyone doubting whether to give it a shot-trust me, it's really good. It's a faithful return to the world we missed so much while standing strong as its own story. Bring on more!

    • Trivia
Tanya says that etorphine is "something like a kajillion times stronger than morphine". Etorphine a semi-synthetic opioid used to tranquilize large animals, depending on route of administration (subcutaneous/intramuscular/intravenous), it is roughly 1,000-3,000 times more potent than morphine, 200-600 times more potent than heroin, and 10-30 times more potent than fentanyl. It was developed in 1960 from oripavine, an alkaloid which does not generally occur in opium poppy (Papaver somniferum) extract, but rather the related plants Papaver orientale (Oriental poppy) and Papaver bracteatum (Iranian poppy). Etorphine is only approved for use in veterinary medicine, since its normal doses for large animals: 10-15 mg for an African elephant, 5-10 mg for an Indian elephant, and 2-4 mg for a black rhino, would be highly toxic and many times the fatal dose for a human. Etorphine's median lethal dose in humans is only 3 micrograms, or 0.003 milligrams, which is smaller than a single grain of salt, since it is lethal to humans etorphine is always packaged with a potent opioid antagonist called diprenorphine that reverses etorphine's effects, in case of accidental human exposure, but it's most often used to reverse the drug's effect on animals. Since the late 1990's the use of etorphine has largely been phased out due to the development of an extremely potent analog of fentanyl called carfentanil, at 10 times the potency of etorphine, and 10,000 times the potency of morphine, it is one of the most potent opioids synthesized. Carfentanil has become favored over etorphine for tranquilizing large animals (especially agitated animals) because fentanyl and its analogs have a rapid onset of action, etorphine can take up to 15-20 minutes to take full effect, but carfentanil can take effect in under five minutes. Carfentanil also wears off much more quickly, and often doesn't require the administration of a second drug to reverse its effects the way etorphine often does; if the animal needs to be sedated for a longer period, carfentanil can be administered along with a long-acting tranquilizer like acepromazine.
    • Errores
Dexter initially chooses Etorphine as his tranquilizer of choice for his victims and at one point says "one milligram of this will knock a racehorse out for hours." Etorphine is explicitly disallowed for human use as its LD50 (lethal dose for 50% of test subjects) is THREE micrograms, 3/1000ths of a milligram.

Correction: In the original series Dexter mentions using an extremely diluted dose of Etorphine to subdue his victims, a dose that small would be easy to make with access to a forensics lab. Etorphine (M99) also always comes packaged with diprenorphine (M5050), an antidote for etorphine, that he uses to reverse its effects.
