Giving this 10/10 simply for all the delicious Twin Peaks references. Body found on a beach. Dana Ashbrook guest stars. Who Killed Lucas Phillips? Blue Rose painting. Sleazy brothers operating a club. Drugs. This was a delightful return to a show that I have come to look forward to every week. So glad to see it back, but also sad to see all the shots of places we know now to be decimated by the fires.

I love guessing along with the show and it progresses. I never want the episodes to end.

I will admit I feel there were a few stones they left unturned in this episode. I wish that if they were going to pay homage to TP they should have just laid right into it.

I have always enjoyed Kaitlin Olsen. The Mick was way underrated, but I love that this is more of a serious role for her, giving her a chance to branch out beyond just comedy. The Mick was genuinely hilarious and felt like a perfect fit for her unique brand of humor-sharp, chaotic, and effortlessly funny. This new show also taps into that same energy, blending her comedic timing with a more layered character. I'm really excited that it got extended and is officially getting another season. There are so many different directions they can explore with the story and characters, which makes it even more promising. I'm hoping the writers continue to take risks and expand the world even further. Kaitlin deserves a strong vehicle like this to showcase her range. Here's to hoping the show continues to grow its audience and sticks around for the long haul-it definitely has the potential.

The episode of "The Lazarus Effect" returns after a long hiatus, with Morgan and Karadec returning to the case. The story begins when a girl is found dead on the beach, only to be miraculously revived, reminiscent of the Lazarus Effect. The stakes are high as they investigate the murder of her boyfriend, Lucas. Penny's determination to uncover the truth adds emotional weight to the case, as she is not just a victim but someone seeking justice for her loved one. The viewer sympathizes with Penny, who has to navigate this tangled web while carrying the emotional baggage of losing someone she cares about. This episode offers a twist on the typical "girl in danger" narrative, where Penny is an active player trying to uncover the truth herself. The mystery unravels well, with each revelation about Lucas's past and his connections at the beach club keeping things interesting. The pacing is great, with no one suspect dragging on too long and clues placed just enough to keep the audience guessing without feeling too obvious. The red herrings work as intended, keeping the audience from jumping to conclusions too quickly. The episode also provides a rare moment of downtime with Karadec and Morgan, bonding over a quiet night of Chinese food at Karadec's place. Morgan's casually dropping clues about the rice in Lucas's hair is a brilliant touch, keeping the audience engaged without giving too much away too soon. Eddie's actions speak volumes about his guilt, and the episode ends with a satisfying conclusion.
