I didn't want to like this show, but I can't help it, I loved it. This game show is extremely clever. It's on CNN, so it's obviously left leaning but done with a great sense of humor. Roy Wood, Jr. Is so quick witted and the rest of the cast is hysterical. Michael Ian Black is brilliant, informed and funny. I love the idea that it includes the most current events and brings levity to such a crazy reality we're all dealing with for the past week. I hope they are able to keep up the freshness and the lighthearted appeal and not slide into stale repetitive content. I think it helps that they are genuine comedians that are quick on their feet to keep it high spirited and current.

Love this new show. After the first episode I thought it was really funny and maybe it's a fluke so I thought let's give it a second round. Sure enough it is fantastic!
I feel like there's a bit of acting going on though, like some of these things that were pretty big news stories during the week I feel like Amber would have known about and she acts like she hadn't heard it. That said she's crazy funny. Like even when I think she's faking it and she's full of poop, she delivers her stuff spot on funny.
Michael is clearly well informed. He seems to actually know the answers to most questions but can still manage good jokes out of it. Roy does an amazing job hosting always has me laughing. What's crazy is they take all the jokes from the entire week worth of news and create new content. That's harder than you think considering all the different shows out there making jokes about the same exact topics (looking at you late night shows) and for them to come in and put together original jokes that hit is quite impressive.

This is a good one.
Holds the spirit of the original BBC version, but with its own unique twist.
It was smart, funny, well rounded and well written. Roy Wood Jr. As the host was absolute genius casting. They've also done a very good job picking guest team members/comedians/personalities to be on the teams.
Interestingly, this show has a unique approach in that the questions just basically provide as a jumping off point for the jokes, but they're also very interestingly constructed game play as well.
The way they approach topics is very refreshing & wonderfully light hearted.
Top notch show all around.

I like Roy Wood Jr, I love Michael Ian Black and it was very funny at times, but I was also confused. What is this show supposed to be. It seems very random. Meaningless points and teams. A retread of the weeks news where the panel guesses the story, quote, or person involved? Huh? It's like Wait Wait Don't Tell Me but not as good. I also saw this is based off a British show of the same name that's run since 1990. That show is clearly a success to last that long. So here's hoping the show finds its footing and a better structure in the episodes to come. I'll be continuing to watch to give it more of a chance.
For a show like this to work you need fast thinking, quick witted comedians first and second and third. Knowledge of the news and politics is a distant fourth and last place. The captains are terrible and the guests were useless. Leave it to Americans to try to cut and paste a highly successful and genius British original (yes, this does include the American Office which, while very good, was a diluted down inferior replica of the original). Back to this show, I hope it gets better because we need shows like it. Dial up the comedy, pick up the pace and spend more than $100 on the guest artists).
Ian Hislop and Paul Merton, please I hope to God you don't watch this absolute disaster of a reboot of the genius British original.

- TriviaHave I Got News For You (HIGNFY) is based on a long running BBC show of the same name. A staple of British satire and topical comedy, the format features two teams, each with a regular captain and a guest, who answer questions and engage in witty banter about the week's news. The show is known for its sharp, satirical humor and has influenced the panel show genre in the UK. The one significant format difference is that the British show features rotating hosts, while Roy Wood Jr.anchor's the American version.
