The pacing is off, the dialogue is bad. The new series feel like they try to recreate what worked well for the past best rated episodes. This is not what Rick and Morty is. Every episode doesnt have to be deep or have something to do with the story. The deep moments mean nothing when there arent regular smith family moments and random things inbetween. Again the pacing is off, never do they have a regular conversation like they used to. All they do is montages so they font have to write an actual story or conversation. Overall there is nothing in these episodes that makes me care for the characters. At no point during the Star Wars battles that they keep implementing kn these episodes do I ever feel concened for the characters involved. That means the show is badly written.
So far season 8 episodes felt like they could have a whole movie for themselves, the typical 25 minutes absolutely flew, when this episode specifically ended I thought it just started. Now with everything I enjoyed. Firstly the art and animation are stunning, all the details were carried out with cure and the scenery is amazing, very different to what most Rick and Morty fans are used to. The plot is interesting and intriguing, leaving a sense of mystery to those watching since the beginning. The episode itself is packed with action scenes, all of them carried out flawlessly, as seen so far in the season overall. The music too also really fits with the story. The only complaint really to mention is what said before: this could episode could be longer. Although one may be satisfied to how the episode ends, I almost felt underwhelmed to the fact that the story ended, thinking that there could have been more going on. Overall amazing, worth the full marks!
When this episode first started, i really thought I was gonna be in for another tales of the citadel kind of episode but in all, the story lacked depth and didn't really make any sense to me, the idea of them trying to replicate morty's again and the guy who knows the code wanting to be left alone is cool. But I felt like this could've been way better if there was a true change to the story at the end of this like in the old "plot" episodes. This was very similar to "The Ricklantis Mixup" but just had a worse story unfortunately.
In all i feel like they tried to make a plot episode but didn't know where to go with it.

The first episode was fine although wasnt the best of rick and morty but the 2 after are just horrible, the jokes are super cheesy and boring. On a she hulk level. The plot and the dialogue also sucks ass. An example is the moment in which farmer rick went to space to find the ricks who burned his house, he said to the morty's get out of my car while they were in the middle of space. The death of the morty with the hat was also weird. The final words he said are quite cringe and off putting to listen to. The last example the line the hoof rick said felt like it was supposed to be a joke but it just didnt deliver and thats sums up almost all jokes made in this episode, empty, not thought through and painfull.
This episode shows the writers' capabilities in expanding the rick and morty citadel story. The fact that in only 20 minutes we meet these new characters, understand the hierarchy, and resolve their conflicts is amazing to me. This episode is beautifully crafted, which each dialogue and action being logical and compelling.
I know i sound like im glazing, but the fact that this episode doesn't use any prior characters (other than our rick and morty) and we are able to be emotionally attached to them is great writing and directing.
This episode shows that rick and morty can still be consistent and engaging without needing its prior characters or cameos.
Although not my favorite citadel episode, it is definitely up there.
