Feels like the show has run its course and the writers are finished. The character writing is too one-dimensional and it's like no growth/maturity has been achieved throughout previous adventures. Kind of feels stale to watch. Even the big plot twist at the end of this episode just felt like a bore and there was no plot buildup to even make it connect somehow to the viewer. Just felt like another "...oh, and by the way" moment. Writers seem burnt out of ideas.
I see why Rudy Pankow (JJ's actor) wants to leave the series after the season's conclusion. Even as a time waster show this feels like it has nowhere left to go.

So far I didn't think I would like the season cut in 2, but I guess it helps with keeping you invested and not bingeing the whole thing at once like previous years. The story feels grounded again which is a good thing. Hopefully there's a bit more romance but everything so far is great. What stands out is the cinematography/filmography. This season looks phenomenal so far. They have something really big cooking up their sleeves with a lot of the character arcs and twists.
This feels a lot like the early seasons where there's a new hunt but everything is not so simple. The cast goes down the rabbit hole and things start to reveal itself. Kooks and pogues colliding, romance between the crew, and the future of the obx hangs in the balance with the kooks playing a big part is what is still a mystery as of right now.
Can't wait for part 2 this is great so far!

This season is really good but you can draw a ton of similarities between this season and Goonies . Also I truly think the pougues would have mentioned the body to the sheriff instead of dumping it, as well as working for the genettes. Sometimes the way the story is going feels like a rehash of ssn 1 and 2 . Also the way season 3 ended was implied there was billions of dollars of gold not just 1 million this all feels like they manipulated the plot to move it forward. I would have also like to see the pogues actually be rich and have rich people problems instead of just winding them back to jumpstreet and being poor.
OBX was always not a top tier show, but a show that never fails to bore you or something like that..It was always fun to watch,at least when it was down to earth and not forcing things that mostly were unrealistic.. Especially season 1's treasure hunt was very interesting..I always thought season 2 was a huge improvement at least in the first half then it all went a bit over the top with the action when they just had to focus on the characters..And thats what season 4 does best..It keeps the action with huge characters development(especially with JJ which it seems that the season will be on him)..Rudy deserves it,JJ was and is the best character of the show when he was just a secondary protagonist in others main story..Exploring his past is something every OBX fan wished to unravel..First part of the season is good, lets see the rest.
I really wanted to watch all of the episodes all at once. Please Netflix stop cutting the seasons in two parts.
Seems like an entertaining season so far. They are back in the OBX after discovering the gold but they won't get rid off their problems very quickly.
It seems like this season is going to be more centered in JJ's story with an amazing plot twist by the end of this episode.
The filmography is getting better and better thorough the seasons. Personally, I just wanted to see a bit more romance and not so much drama and action.
I really wanted to see JJ & Kiara's relationship development and I felt that there was a lack of that.
Already looking forward to knowing what's going to happen by the end of the season.
