Frasier (the original) is my favourite US comedy by a long way. The 2023 reboot has not reached those dizzy heights but it is, nevertheless, funny enough given the nostalgia it evokes.
For us Brits, Nicholas Lyndhurst (Alan) is a comedy legend having been in Butterflies and Only Fools And Horses; so his inclusion is most welcome.
What I like most about this episode is that it leads naturally into a third season, so they had better not halt production... Aside the possible love interest for the main character, there is a very telling 1 second at 22:53 (almost too subtle for me, I nearly missed it and had to rewind a couple of times to make sure) which gives rise to many possible sub-plots in a new season.
All in all, I liked it a lot and look forward to the next season(s)..

Just watched the season finale, and I really hope this show gets renewed again and keeps going until season 11. It's not as funny as the original-especially at the start of this episode when the laugh track was going, but I was wondering why it wasn't funny to me. But by the middle of the episode, it picks up, and by the end, I wanted more.
I liked that this episode had more of Alan. This actor has replaced Niles in the best possible way. I really don't like episodes with less of him-he should get almost as much screen time as Frasier. The rest of the cast is amazing as well. I also hope Frasier gets married this time (please don't cancel this show at least until that happens), Roz appears in most of the season 3 episodes, and there are more guest appearances from the original Frasier and Cheers.
It seems like they listened to season 1 complaints about the David character, where many said they didn't like him. But instead of improving his character, the writers and other characters on the show are mostly ignoring him, so he's getting less screen time. The actor's good-maybe some funnier lines or a romantic angle could help. I don't think the show should be canceled, and I'm hoping for an even better season 3 since this one was better than the first. I waited for the new episode every week.
Here are my ratings for each episode this season (out of 10): 5, 6, 7, 8, 6, 6, 5, 7, 6, 7.

Take a bow 'Frasier'.
This was excellent, a lovely way to end the second series of this reboot, and hopefully not the show as a whole. Come on Paramount+, let's have another batch of episodes please!
The ace this show has always had is Nicholas Lyndhurst. Here is a guy more than capable of carrying a series playing second fiddle, content with stealing every scene he is in. While everyone has been banging on about the lack of Niles, Lyndhurst's Alan has been filling the role perfectly well. It's great therefore that he was given a plotline to himself in this episode.
There are some great laughs in here, but also some wonderful moments of heart, and it was a joy to watch unfold.
There is so much potential here, so many characters we are starting to fall in love with, the development since the first series is huge, so I can only hope that this is allowed to continue for a bit longer.

I loved watching the reboot to this classic sitcom but before writing this review,I had the displeasure of finding out that Paramount Plus has cancelled the show before season 3 but CBS is currently looking for a new home for the series so hopefully Frasier gets to 3 but I'm going to be sad if it does because then it'll be taken off of Paramount Plus and put onto something else.
The Show was amazing and Paramount only axed it because they said it was "lack of investment' which by the scores that's not the case at all, they most likely ran out of ideas for future episodes and decided to end it on a somber christmas note.

After a few bumpy early episodes, the reboot of "Frasier" settled down into a fairly solid sitcom with some genuinely funny moments. This second season builds on the successes of the second half of the first and is genuinely really good.
Having established a proper relationship with Freddie (Jack Cutmore-Scott) Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) settles into life is Boston and onto the dating scene, eventually meeting Bar Tender Holly (Patricia Heaton). Alan (Nicholas Lyndhurst) is coming to regret his estrangement from his children, particularly having seen Frasier's progress. Roz (Peri Gilpen) is also spending more time in Boston as her daughter has moved their too and is considering leaving Seattle too.
Again, this feels more settled now. Everyone is familiar with who their characters are what it's like filming in front of a studio audience. They no longer have to spend any time introducing their traits so they can just concentrate on being funny and, in that regard, the series works really well. It's often verbally witty work, well performed and with an occasional classic "Frasier-Farce" to enjoy. I have to say that the Murder Mystery episode, the penultimate one in the run, was absolutely fantastic.
I think I said this in my review of the first season but those first couple of episodes were rough and I wouldn't blame you if it shook you loose then, but if you've persevered, we've now ended up with a worthy successor to the original series and I hope that it's recommissioned for a third run.

- TriviaBehind the hotel desk is a hotel plaque that says "Les Charles Hotel." Les Charles is a writer for the show, as well as the original Frasier (1993) and many others, including being the co-creator of Cheers (1982), the parent show where the character of Frasier originated.

Dr. Frasier Crane: Frederick, if I can get my hands on a beekeeper's outfit, and you can learn sign language, I think we can get Olivia married.
Freddy Crane: Why does that sound like a good plan? Why does that sound like a good plan?
