The kid is so bad. But the characters surrounding him are so great. Minus the dude looking gf. This was her best episode to date cuz she never said a thing. So many emotions with Owen Wilson. What a great time he played. Santis dad felt like a filler cuz they ran out of ideas. I'd pay to see stick and santi play the back nine. He still has it!!
What a wonderful little show.
Didn't expected that much from the beginning.
I'm not into Golf or sports in general.
But this Show managed what only a few others did before getting me hooked right from the start.
It has a few weakness in the middle part of the Season due some stereotypical stuff (story wise) but besides of it i did fully enjoy the Show.
The last Episode gave me joyful tears and ending really did felt quite special.
I'm craving bad for a Season 2 , but since the show perfectly ended, i can accept it if this will be the End of a little Journey.
Dear Makers & Apple thanks 4 it.

Apple TV have really found a template for the comedy output with "Ted Lasso" and it's one they are mining again with "Stick", a golf themed family comedy starring Owen Wilson.
Having crashed out from the professional circuit following a personal tragedy, Pryce Cahill (Owen Wilson) spots Santi Wheeler (Peter Dager) hitting balls for fun a the driving range. Spotting his potential, Pryce tries to convince Santi to turn pro, with his help but Santi's mother Elena (Mariana Trevino) is sceptical of Pryce and Santi himself has already been burned by an overbearing golf coach father.
That formula is yet again "nice". Super nice characters, doing nice things for each other and generally being good people. There are some shades of grey to it in this series, as Pryce is capable of bending the truth to fit what he believes is the greater good. The niceness rolls into the supporting characters, even ones that might traditionally have been antagonistic. Pryce's ex-wife played by Judy Greer might, in another show, be written as a killjoy, but here she's very supportive. Similarly, Timothy Olyphant plays one of Pryce's former rivals in the later episodes and whilst he enjoys rubbing his success in his face, and seems prepared to date a character spectacularly too young for him, he comes good when he really needs too.
I wouldn't describe the series as a laugh riot, though both Wilson and Marc Maron, who plays his former caddy and mentor, wring as much as they can out of it. It struggled most when it's trying to do the generational comparison type stuff. But it's hard to not feel positively about the series, based just on its own upbeat and wholesome tone. I'll certainly be back to watch season two.

Stick is a wonderful story about growth within , self belief , and healing hearts. Through golf and ability it touches on life's more real time events in one's personal lives. Amazing writing and great acting by the cast. Owen Wilson shows a side I've never seen before. Can't wait for season 2 to come out and see where Santi and Sticks relationship takes them. So many different scenarios that could happen. I don't think I can wait that long to see.
The relationship stories told in this show are fantastic and real life events that the ordinary person will be able to relate to. I put this show right up there with Ted Lasso.
MUST WATCH!!

The biggest thing I took away from this episode? Maybe I should be writing TV. Seriously - if this is the bar for creativity, hand me a Final Draft license and point me to the writers' room.
Look, I don't enjoy being this negative, but this episode felt like it was assembled from the Great Big Book of Clichés, volume 3. Every plot point telegraphs itself five minutes in advance like it's waving a neon sign. It's less "plot twist" and more "plot déjà vu."
Now, I get it - this isn't trying to be prestige TV. If your only requirement is something light and predictable to make you feel warm and fuzzy, then sure, this will probably do the trick. But if you're craving originality or surprise? Keep flipping channels.
