Which was worse, the story or Leslie, the boss? I have seen a lot of stories with a tyrannical boss. Seems like Vivica A Fox has played a few demanding bosses. Leslie is not just mean, but she is a moron. She is calling or texting Emma every five minutes, even while she is at work. Hourly workers, like floaters, can't be taking texts while at work. And you can't send someone with NO experience as a spy. I have to wonder about Denise (Jackee Harry) as well. It's obvious Emma has no experience but they keep her on. But Denise makes sense in the end. Then there is a conversation between Emma and Leslie just before the climax that really doesn't make sense, at least not how Leslie responds.
The overall structure and flow of the story is totally common. Emma sent to spy. Emma and Dave build a relationship. What happens from there is also the usual and predictable perhaps except for some small details. I would say the one of those is the last conversation between Emma and Leslie, but I think I've seen some similar ones, but I can say this one was as stupid as any.
This is a Christmas rom/com and Landon Moss and Jasmine Aivaliotis do have chemistry but Emma and Dave don't really get personal enough to justify a romance. Their relationship is all shallow, or business since Emma keeps asking Dave probing questions about the bakery.
