    Crushing on Connor

We finally got something the show's been hinting at for a while but hadn't really committed to yet: a more intimate, independent storyline for Connor. And the best part? It happens in the sweetest, lightest way possible-through an unexpected crush. For the first time, he gets a plot of his own, with room to shine and show sides of himself that had been hidden behind his quirky, comic role. And the result is charming, funny, and surprisingly genuine.

The way Connor opens up to Georgie about Chloe is one of those scenes that, even with humor, gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling. It's not just sweet to see Connor all excited and vulnerable at the same time, but it's also beautiful to watch how his relationship with Georgie is becoming one of the show's most solid. There's affection, there's real listening, there's respect-and most importantly, Georgie doesn't try to "fix" Connor. He just guides him in a way that feels natural and shows how much he's grown as a character too. This whole dynamic of Georgie as an unofficial mentor-basically this "model married guy who's got it together"-is such a delicious bit of irony when you think back to who he was at the start of "Young Sheldon."

The visit to the music store is another perfect moment. The setting is cozy, the interaction between Connor and Chloe flows effortlessly, and their chemistry doesn't need to be overplayed to work. It's all super subtle-the kind of connection that builds slowly, the way it should, especially for a character like Connor. And when Chloe shows up with lyrics to the song he started writing, the episode makes it clear just how in sync the two of them are-not just musically, but emotionally too. Connor is clearly smitten, and you feel it not just in what he says, but in the way he looks at her, the way he moves, that shy crooked smile. It's the kind of infatuation that doesn't need to be spelled out constantly to be understood.

And then comes the family, of course-and this is where the episode adds a bit of tension without ever going full-on dramatic. Audrey, as expected, flips into overprotective mode, which kind of makes sense: she sees a fragility in Connor that maybe doesn't actually exist the way she thinks it does. Jim reacts with this mix of surprise and laid-back pragmatism, like someone who's realized his kids are gonna do what they want whether he likes it or not. Then you've got Mandy, whose reaction honestly says more about her than about her brother. She treats Connor's crush like it's high school gossip, which kind of exposes her own need to reconnect with some version of lost youth-whether it's from nostalgia or low-key frustration. Deep down, you can tell she's still figuring herself out as a married adult, and seeing her brother in a real, potentially serious relationship might be triggering an insecurity she doesn't quite know how to name yet.

This whole wave of reactions from the family, while funny, ends up working as a mirror: while everyone sees Connor as this naïve, unprepared kid, he's actually more grounded than most of them. And that's a big deal. The show doesn't make fun of him-on the contrary, it lifts him up, showing that he can build relationships, make choices, and experience love in a real, meaningful way. His thing with Chloe might last, or it might not, but that's not even the point. What matters is that he's trying, opening up, evolving. And that's way more interesting than anyone would've guessed from a so-called "side character" arc.

Overall, the episode really nails it by going for a more gentle tone, letting the humor come from natural character interactions instead of forced punchlines. It's an episode about growing up, without shouting about it-and it gives Connor the space he truly deserves to grow outside of the family's shadow. If the show keeps going down this path, with writing that treats its characters with both heart and smarts, it could totally become more than just a spin-off. It's got soul, it's got purpose-and now, finally, it's got a lovestruck Connor. And I gotta admit: I'm kinda falling for him too.

    Absolute Cinema.

This is the greatest episode of television of all time. When I heard Connor defending the musical perfection of steely dan i attis up from my seat and applauded. No single piece of fiction will ever come close to what episode 15 of georgie and mandy's first marriage has done. Decades of perfectionism by Fagen and Becker all lead up to this. Steely dan is the greatest band of all time and any major dude would surely agree. The realistic and intelligent writing was set up perfectly so that connors new romantic pursuit chloe would reference the dan. She made a poor attempt to drag down their good name, but connor knew exactly how to defend them. He is just a genius. Georgie and macy's first narrator is the greatest show of all time. Forget paw patrol and velma. Steely dan.

Easily the best episode so far

This episode was so full of joy, good humour, great vibes. There was no unnecessary drama and it was full of excellent chemistry/bonding with new sides shown to every character. Hope to see more episodes like this one!

Connor is probably my favourite character so it's also joyful for me on a personal level to give him more depth and explore his interests beyond him being comedic relief in intense situations. It's especially important for the whole franchise to be able to center around a more neurodivergent character since that's what the Big Bang Theory did and what Young Sheldon also did. Keep it up!

Got an account just to say: This was the BEST episode.

This was the best episode of Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage by far. It had all the emotions. It was so amusing, comforting, warm, and joyful! It was so satisfying and silly, it made me looking for the next episode! It was perfection. Georgie stepping in to help Connor was so sweet and touching. The chemistry between the two was wonderful, but the chemistry between Connor and Kara Arena's character was even more. It was comedic and romantic brilliance.

It's episodes like this that remind me why I fell in love with the series in the first place. This episode added so much depth to Connor's story and character that we just never seen before. Can we give Connor a spin-off already? So so good.
