Lucan

I am not really giving anything away when I say that before I even watched it I knew that there was going to be no sensational revealing of what happened to Lord Lucan.

It would have been a big news story some time previously if there were.

It is interesting, although three episodes is a bit too long.

This is about the son (Neil Berriman) of the murdered Nanny and his quest to find the man responsible for killing the mother he never knew, he being given up for adoption by her. He did not find out who his really mother was until after his adoptive mother had passed away.

It is fair to say that Berriman has/had become completely obsessed with his quest. At first it seemed reasonable, but after seeing, briefly, what his wife thought of it all, it became clear that his whole life became revolved around the search for Lucan.

Fortunately his cohort, the investigative journalist Glen Campbell, was with him and kept a sober view on everything.

Even when Berriman was convinced he had found Lucan, Campbell was not.

It's a very well made programme in three parts, which don't repeat themselves too much and flow quite smoothly. But I can't help feeling that all the long distance flights and trains and so on could have easily been avoided and the planet spared unnecessary pollution with a bit of applied science. The facial recognition is fascinating and it would have been good to know more, but one DNA swab would sort it all out and then poor Mrs Berriman could have a quiet life and Tilly the cat could have a lap to sit on.

It certainly provides an interesting view of what benefits one can accrue from being well connected and having friends in high places though.

Watching this really gets you questioning the events of the disappearance and how it leads up to an enigma of a man himself, friends of Lucan say they believed he killed himself that fateful night but then discredit themselves with little revelations. I knew he was going to kill his wife as he was drinking all day, but I gave him 12k 2 days earlier (which goes far for planning a life away especially when another friend will help you to escape to a different country). This follows the son of Sandra the victim following clues which leads to a man who is an enigma in his own right.

Taking Lives???

All we needed was D. N. A from the man to solve the mystery.

Just watch the last episode and forget the nonsense leading up to it, he might, as well be gone to every nursing home and nut house in the England with old people standing up saying "I am spartucus" the fact that pushing a frail old man to confess is now T. V exclusive.

This series of programs was like many netflix Doc's just too long and baseless, It reminded me of Chimp Empire Doc, where after watching whole thing could have watched last episode and it sums up point less program.

The two preivous episodes lead you in wrong dirrection and the truth is only discovered in last episode and when your whole program is based on a new discovery and that does not happen, then the program should be shelved.

First episode Claims, John Aspel and James Goldsmith-John said he would protect friend in any situation, even murder and his assistant made arrangements in 1979 for passports and children to visit Africa where Lucan would see children from distance in treetops Kenya. The assistant claims she spoke to him on the phone and believed it was him.

David hardy acquaintance of Lucan had address book with him apon his death in car accident, Address book reads under L, Lucan Africa hotel les Ambassadeurs in Beira Mozambique, police separtly on report lord Lucan Mozambique. Where did he get this police report, as it could not be release in court to prove Lucan was alive. Could the reason be it's fake. They say it is because he obtained it from serving officer and he wants to remain hidden, Revelling this would cost the officer his job.

Episode 2 Glen Campbell - the Investigative Reporter meets Hugh lord Lucan's brother his only said Lucan become Buddhist monk and died in 2002.

5 years latter a letter arrived from Perth Australia it said: in 2002 a Monk called Adam Kadman confessed to killing two women Sandra and Veronica and Adam Kadman tried to kill me. I will explain to you in future. I can tell you yes Lucan did kill your mother.

This man named Stephen said, he was attacked by Lucan's boyfriend and court documents say that it did not happen. " Another witness proven untrue".

They then read letters given to them by Stephen , as if they are true.

Then meet this woman said the monk was a wizard at her sixth birthday party.

Then two real monks came to where he was teaching and said he was not a real monk and he left. Neil creates name Doougle and contact Monk from internet and then claims he must be Lucan.

They meet a Derik in Perth and he said he knew princess Margret.

Episode 3 Claims were check by police and it is not him full stop. Then Neil claims he must have had plastic surgery and it's him.

Speaks to man on phone on skype and man said yes, I have been on run,but might just mean on Journey being monk and then Neil calls him lord Lucan.

Confusing the old man who has moved and changed name many times in his life and clearly not quite with it. Called him Lucan and old man was not sure what he was talking about.

Another false ending.

They then claim some super software said the man is Lucan.

A friend of Lucan said it's not him, enough said, it's not him professor Hassan Ugails software must be wrong and as a viewer, I don't even know if he is a real Professor.

They 100% prove this man is not Lucan and try to clain software is different to police software and records.

All I can see is that this program is fake and not adding anything new to the story around Lucan.

It is based on lies and false statements and police that give them evidience.

They prove it was dead end and have somehow conned BBC and views out of money to make this program.

It is not what money should be spent on and the Lucan family should be respected.
