In the remote village of Kavantha, nestled beneath mist-covered peaks, Stephen arrives to oversee the construction of a new road that will connect this peaceful village to the outside world. Among them is Amminiyamma, a quiet, hard-working woman known for her role as Kunji's grandmother. Amminiyamma works as a daily wage laborer, spending most of her days in the fields, rarely speaking but always working with poor physical health. Kunji, a quiet girl, lost her parents in the 2018 floods and has lived with Amminiyamma ever since and together, they live in peaceful isolation. While the villagers care for them, Amminiyamma keeps Kunji close, seldom letting others form deep connections with the young girl.
