Ratcheting up the tension, a stellar Sam Rockwell monologue
While darker than many or all episodes of past seasons, this episode nonetheless sets the tone for what viewers of The White Lotus have come to expect over the past couple of seasons - tension (primarily sexual) and a subtle underlying dread/anxiety throughout the episode that appears to be pointing toward an even more scandalous episode 6 next week.
The plot point between the two Ratfliff bros? We can only surmise there's going to be a lot to unpack in subsequent episodes.
Sam Rockwell truly stole the show, however, with his increasingly bizarre, yet surprisingly deep, monologue to bewildered Walton Goggins, reviewing how his past life has shaped his current life.
Excited for future episodes given what has been revealed out so far.
