Timothée Chalamet

The show sucked, but Chalamet playing Dylan's songs was an insult to the music. Someone needs to explain to him, playing him in a movie does not give him any context to what the music means. Just so superficial.

He's so insincere and overdone. The Dune remake sucks btw.

Put Chalamet and Mamoa in a scene together, all they need is Amanda Heard for the trifecta of bad acting.

I am not sure what else to say. SNL is going downhill, but then other things about the show seem better. When was the last time we had great characters that were created where they might be turned into a film? Please just don't slide into highschool sketch writing.

I'm not big on topical humor. As far as news and current events go, I'll seek out that information in my own time. I don't really like it in my comedy. Comedy is supposed to be an escape.

Too often, and especially in the opening skit, SNL tries a little too hard for a grab at "social relevance" and it almost never pays off. At least in my opinion.

I'm rating this episode an 8 because it's the kind of random, wacky, unhinged comedy that made me love SNL in the first place. A bungie gym, a dog park, a def jam coffee shop, and Timmy farting in some old lady's face to save her life? Insane. And I loved every second of it. These are skits you send to your friends because they're so ridiculously fun. More of this vibe, SNL. Please.

Timothee makes for an ideal host. You can tell he loves hosting because he just gets to "buy into it" and be a goofball for a night. He'll probably hit the Five Timers Club pretty quickly at the rate he's going. And more power to him. He fits right in.

Timothy Chalamet brings his A-List acting chops and charm to a well written, crisp set of sketches and surprisingly good musical performances.

The cold open is a beautifully produced "Founding Fathers Signing the Declaration of Independence" set piece with over the top art direction and costumes and a Lin Manuel Miranda cameo in which he starts and original Hamilton rap and is thwarted by a James Austin Johnson Trump interruption.

Chalemet was funny throughout the show, as always. Not a weak piece to n the lineup. The writers are making fun of AI, dogs, politics, podcast bros, and threw in some broad comedy with the bungee exercise class.

Chalamet went deep into Bob Dylan's catalog in live collaboration with James Blake, pulling out some emotive arrangements of Outlaw Blues, Three Angels and Tomorrow Is A Long Time.

Overall a standout ep in a strong 50th season. Anyone who says different either doesn't know funny or can't laugh at themselves.

Good lord did this episode suck! (as did the one from last week). You know it's circling the drain when Dave Chappelle's opening monologs was so off that he did the microphone bump ("Hello...is this thing on?"). Also the news segment was stilted and awkward (you could see it on Colin Jost's face). That segment has always been a redeeming factor for episodes that were otherwise "meh" but it was so forced and weird that I couldn't stay with it. Honestly the humans as animals sketch gave me some authentic laughs but it wasn't enough to justify an hour and a half of garbage. Think it's time to drag this one behind the barn and give it the "Old Yeller" treatment.
