Drugging someone without their consent is a crime!
If it is not, it should be!
The 16 year old boy did the drugging! He is guilty of that crime and of rape. His intent was clearly shown by his text message to his friends.
And he was drinking alcohol illegally at a public bar. And he was using an illegal drug he himself dissolved in his own illegal bottle of alcohol!
He is guilty of many official crimes, rape being one of them.
He is the one who should have been prosecuted and put on the sex offender's public list. His age, 16 years, is no excuse for anything he did!
This episode was soft on him.

Who thought this episode, written as it was, was a good idea??? I don't even know what category of bad this belongs in. It's
This was downright terrible, enough to make me hate Carisi. Nothing about the way he handled this made sense. He and that horrible stepmother deserve each other.
And then what was with the one detective telling his story at the end that, other than him being a teenage boy, was a different situation altogether. It was just thrown in there in such a disjointed manner, trying to draw a false equivalency. It's like they wanted us to look at the episode's story in the way things happened for him, only they didn't.
And Olivia, you didn't do enough...PERIOD!
But I know these are just characters so I definitely blame the writers. I pray I never see another episode of any show that they have written. This was pure garbage!!!

What happened to this show? Why have the writers suddenly changed Carisi into an angry man who victim blames. Is angry. Judgy. He has made watching the show difficult. Benson takes the cake though. Stop with the soap box long run on sentencing. Making each episode so dark as of late. Using AI? Probably. Because the human element is no longer a part of this drama. Why are they so angry?! Switch the writers. This has become less about the victims, and all about the criminals. Thought that's what Law and Oder the original series is for. The high ratings for this episode really makes me fear for the humanity of the world. Because it's not ok. The show has left a terrible taste in my mouth, and it's sad to think I may stop watching all together, even though I've been a fan since the first, VERY first episode.
I have watched this series since the get go. I was excited to see the message of 'new episodes for download'. Also I am not one to jump to write reviews but I feel very strongly about what I just saw. Ok, it is fiction sure it is not real, but SVU does follow some sort of code, one where the watcher is rewarded woth being on the same 'team' as the justice system. This episode changed my view of this series completely. If they used a new writer, please get rid of them. Surely the actors themselves would have objected to a story line like this. Sorry, but you lost an all time loyal fan. I am disgusted and reminded with what is wrong with the US justice system. YUCK. Seriously I don't even want to finish this episode.
This episode is infuriating. In a show that has 500+ episodes where the idea of 'being for the victim' is drilled into our heads week after week, this is what they give us?
I love this show and have stuck with it for years but this is some BS. There is not DA on earth that would indict this woman, let alone put her through a trial.
Part of me was thinking that they're making Carisi go sort of rogue after his experience in the deli, but not abbit of push back from Benson? And what was that monologue from Bruno where he WAS actually abused by an adult. Are we supposed to sit here and believe there's some correlation between the two?
What the hell was that?

- TriviaMethylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), commonly known as ecstasy (tablet form), and molly (crystal form), is a type of drug known as an empathogen, meaning it effects emotional experience and makes people feel a heightened sense of empathy, euphoria, sympathy, inhibition and heightened sexual arousal. In the simplest of terms it increases both emotional and physical pleasure, and can lower a person's inhibitions making them more likely to do things they normally wouldn't do, making it a poplar club and party drug. From a chemical and physiological standpoint MDMA is a very complex drug in both its composition and the effects it has in the brain & central nervous system. In addition to being an empathogen, it is also a stimulant with minor psychedelic properties. It is classified as substituted amphetamine and is structurally similar to mescaline, which is a naturally occurring psychedelic found in certain species of cacti with similar effects to LSD (acid) & psilocybin (magic mushrooms); it is also similar to the stimulant methamphetamine causing high energy levels, euphoria & sexual inhibition. MDMA also stimulates higher levels of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine which are all neurotransmitters that play crucial roles in regulating mood, behavior, and various bodily functions; serotonin controls mood, sleep, and appetite, norepinephrine mediates alertness and stress response, and dopamine is involved in motivation, movement, and pleasure. While MDMA normally does not cause people to black out, it can do so when mixed with large amounts of substances that increase gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) levels, the most common of which are alcohol and benzodiazepines like diazepam (Valium). MDMA is classified as a schedule I controlled substance by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), meaning it has no recognized legitimate medical use. However recent studies have shown MDMA, along with other psychedelic drugs like LSD & psilocybin, are effective in treating mental disorders like depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and schizophrenia.
- ErroresAt approximately 53 minutes, character Stacey Moran is testifying in court and makes reference to "...a fifth of vodka..." that she was drinking from. It was actually a pint size bottle of vodka.
