I really enjoyed this short film. It's another beauty from this amazing director. This is the spin off or sequel to Room #4 which is about a man called Michael Blake (played by Miroslav Petkov) who has a passion for selling VHS tapes of the intimate kind, and most probably snuff films too. So, this film Room #5 carries on from there in an interesting way. We meet Lucas Powell (played by Gabriele Dimitrov) who is a private investigator and has been contracted to find the tape of a missing girl called Aurora. In order to catch the man, he is after, Michael Blake, who he suspects could be involved; since he distributes pornographic material to those monsters out there who are into this type of content. Powell becomes a client to observe and gather evidence against Blake. When Powell breaks into Michael Blake's house, something very otherworldly happens to Powell that is unexplainable, when he tries to leave the apartment after finding what he was looking for. Excellent! This adds an element of mystery into the storyline and the overall plot.
Then we jump back to earlier in the night...which is actually following on from the ending of the previous film Room #4...it's great that we get to see how this blends in with this film. I like the way we segway into this scene. Another man named Rob (played by Boyan Dimitrov) had broken into the same apartment owned by Blake, he comes across a tape that clearly says not to play the tape on the label. But of course, he watches it. This tape is said to be cursed. He was there to find the tape with Clementine on it, that follows on from Room #4, which is the tape that Blake had taken with him to the hotel in the last film. There's an announcer (played by Phil Herman) who comes on the tape telling the viewer he hopes they didn't just watch the film. Also on the tape, there is a madman in a mask (played by Kevin Gincerowski) and he's a terrifying character! When a woman's screaming fills the air, the whole scene in the apartment turns demonic, adding to the plot of the cursed tape. He runs from the room in fear only to bump straight into Lucus Powell. Together they go back into the apartment, because Rob has something important to show Powell, which is probably the tape that said not to watch it. But it does not go to plan. The announcer comes back on the screen to tell the viewer, they shouldn't have watched the tape, and now they are screwed!
Meanwhile, Rob is having a demonic encounter out in the hallway, with a possessed girl (played by Rosiana Stefanova) adding a sinister element of terror into the story arc, to the sounds of the announcer laughing like a madman. Gotta love Herman's enthusiasm. The ending is well thought out. After the credits roll, we are promised that Michael Blake will be returning to Room #4 in 2026 - I am looking forward to more episodes in the future. Fantastic film, and I highly recommend this, as another brilliant Miroslav Petkov film. He is a true inspiration in the indie film horrorsphere. You will not be disappointed, but you might have to watch Room# 4 to get up to date with what is happening in this film.
