Lucky Day

The story is engaging and Ruby's relationship is up and down and the big reveal Is great, the Doctor wasn't present but was put under scrutiny by enemies of Unit. They also had formed part of a band, but Ryan, Ruby's love interest was a corporate part of the parade. He was interesting and Ruby's dynamic was brilliant, as they shifted a dynamic between them and they shared some laughs and plentiful of chemistry was on display, Mrs Flood is starting to show up and appear out of the blue, Just as Ryan had been captured, and aliens are always real, monsters are real in the Whoniverse. Not bad, but Millie put on a top performance hands down.

The chemistry is short and sweet, with coffee trips and podcasts for are love interests to sink their teeth into, the script showed that Ryan and Ruby were fantastic together, when playing off each other they both were able to show one another how relatable they felt, the realism was projected really well, and we have been missing a normal friends having decent chats. Russel's early eras were known for it and good for it, so special thanks for bringing the fun elements and the mystery back.

Ncuti didn't tear up this type, so points for that. I feel his anger and frustrations rained in, although this felt abit off with his personality, it worked here. A faithful script, brilliant acting, and superb craftsmanship. Very well done.

I usually enjoy Doctor-lite episodes - Blink being a standout - but this one just didn't land for me. These episodes can be a great way to explore side characters or smaller-scale stories, but this time the writing let everything down.

The biggest issue was the so-called "villain." He was loud, obnoxious, and completely lacking in credibility. His whole argument was that the monsters weren't real - and somehow, the public believed him. That part was especially hard to buy. With everything they'd seen and experienced, their sudden denial of the obvious threat felt forced and unrealistic.

UNIT is supposed to be Earth's first line of defense, yet here they were, flailing around and almost undone by a troll. It was frustrating to watch them be so easily outmaneuvered, especially by someone so clearly unstable. They lacked the authority and preparedness that usually defines their role. It felt like they were just there to react, not lead.

And when the actual monster finally showed up - after all the tension and buildup - it was dealt with far too quickly. There was no clever plan, no major twist, just a straightforward confrontation that ended without much effort. The resolution felt rushed and left little impact. For all the noise and buildup, there wasn't much substance in the end.

I kinda really liked this one nice to see Ruby back and how she's coping since the doctor left her. They is a plot twist which wasn't as shocking somehow to me but I think its because it was similar to what happened on netflix final season of YOU which I've just watched. We got a answer which we have been waiting for which was who told the doctor about Belinda which he mentioned in episode 1. I really liked the acting in this good performance from the actor who played conrad hope we see him again and Ruby of course. Mrs flood is confusing because you can't tell if shes bad or Good 🤔 but about the episode overall I give it a 8 because its a fair rating it was good and doesn't deserve less.

This episode feels almost like a liberation - a bold, exhilarating milestone in the Nkuti Gatwa era. It offers raw emotion, surprising plot twists, and an inventive, tightly written story. The Doctor delivers a short but powerful closing speech that shines with wisdom and a strong sense of justice. Even better, the episode avoids the usual tearful monologues, showing a more grounded, confident side of the character. A clever and pointed dig at info warriors, truthers, and self-proclaimed conspiracy sleuths adds a smart, satirical layer to the narrative. The result is a thoroughly compelling and refreshingly modern installment. More of this, please - it's exactly the direction the show needs.
