The writing this season has been atrocious and this might be the worst episode yet. The dialogue, the characters, the contrived plot, etc, just awful and stupid. It's 100% unbelievable that Charlie would talk like she did this episode.
Season One was so good, but this season they completely dropped the ball - and they jump the shark nearly every week.
How can you lose sight of the show's concept and core character traits this badly?
It used to be that Charlie had already been around for a while somewhere before we saw her side of the events of each episode, but now she's just dropping in right before someone gets killed, like Jessica Fletcher. She's bad luck now. If I'm at an event and she shows up, I'm out, because it's no longer safe and someone is about to meet their demise.
Season 1 Charlie tried to stay out of trouble. Now she's confronting killers by herself before the end of the second act, letting them know she's on to them.
The addition of her friend Alex is an unwelcome one - especially considering the character is insufferable. Unbearable, really. And the last two episodes she's basically just served the purpose of exposition and setup to get Charlie to whatever location the show needs her to get to.
I hope this show gets cancelled. It has no business being on TV anymore. They ruined their own show.

There's a moment in the show where Instagram is shown on screen, and I couldn't help but notice the lack of digital accuracy. The message button was clearly visible, the person had active stories (which can be replied to), and even had followed back - meaning multiple ways to contact were available: DM, story reply, or comment. Yet, the characters acted like none of these options existed! It's a small detail, but for today's tech-savvy audience, it stands out.
I'd love to help improve the realism of social media scenes in the next season. I'm available on Telegram and Instagram: @MehraadMahyaad.

¿Sabías que…?
- TriviaThere are a couple references to Columbo (1971), which Poker Face nods to and is inspired by more generally. The references:
- a picture of Peter Falk as Columbo, that is included in the brief with information about Haley Joel Osment's character that Justin Theroux's character looks at in the first scene.
- the "funny thing" that the fake Todd does with his fake eye, is a rendition of Columbo's most famous line, "just one more thing". Another character comments "where is that from anyway?"
- ErroresCharlie tells Alex that Beatrix asked her to follow her Finsta account, adding that she didn't follow her, though, because it's all just baking photos and it would mess up her algorithm. Not long afterwards, Charlie remembers the Finsta account and pulls the car over to check if she can get in contact with Beatrix. Charlie complains "I'm her only follower; she doesn't follow me back?" indicating that she has already been following Beatrix's account.
