Pilot

I was very excited to get into this show after thoroughly enjoying Glitch's other productions. They're practically becoming a household name when it comes to Western Indie Animation.

I cannot express my disappointment enough. Within the first five minutes of this episode, there was a glaring issue with the pacing. Literally everything happened too quick to start to care about what was happening. By the end of the episode, you don't know the characters at all, it was flashy scene after flashy scene until it became nonsensical. Again, the animation itself is unrivaled in Indie animation, but they could have at least tried to slow it down, build the characters a bit, and then proceeded to tell whatever story they have going on here.

Remember how off the walls confusing Murder Drones gets with the last two or three episodes? Yeah this was at that level from the drop. Hopefully, it gets better as it goes on, but right now I couldn't care less about these ugly undead characters with really no endearing qualities to make me want to follow their story.

After Murder Drones, after Digital Circus and their previous past works, Glitch is no more a simple studio, it is the birth of the new era of Animation shows, and Gaslight District, is the best proof of that. Full of the most beautiful and smoothest animation i have ever seen, top notch acting, (even in the Italian dub for Italians like me) and a story that makes you not wanna leave the screen, Gaslight District is animation that advanced before the future made it advance.

Though of course, it is not perfect and in my opinion, it is a bit flawed. Most characters are uninteresting, annoying, painful to watch and listen to, so much so i couldn't help but hate them, and the dialogue is sometimes real iffy. Though albeit very funny a lot of the times, and the latter may also be me fascinated by female protagonists. The story, albeit really good, is very confusing to follow. With too many fast paced actions, that while fascinating, make you understand little of the plot you're following. Some scenes also drag out for too long, and those are even less important, the dialogue of them being the only saving grace. But, other than that, i have very little to neglect about this pilot.

Glitch has created another future masterpiece in the making and i can't wait to see what else this journey will bring.
