The Last Alarm

This was absolutely the worst mistake they could have made! Why kill off the father figure and the literal glue of the whole show?! It's absolutely ridiculous and my household will NOT be watching again until they figure out how to bring Bobby back! Nothing against the actors because they're wonderful as always but I really hope this shows ratings plummet and they have to cancel, just to prove that this show is literally NOTHING without Bobby Nash! I really hope after seeing the ratings of these last episodes they seriously reconsider and try to bring him back. Could literally be in the most unnatural way and we wouldn't bat an eye! Since we never seen a body or anything they could literally make it to where he survived and the government or something is running tests on him since he has "special blood".

It's truly astounding how a show built around a family can fall do far from it's peak. It's incredible that a bunch of randos had more screen time and emotional exploration than the actual main cast (except Athena). Where was Buck's grief? Eddie's? Hen's? Fantastic job at taking a well set up season and tanking it.

The fact that Eddie was told off screen, that he returned off screen, that the random family of nobody's had more screen time than almost all of the main cast is a great way to make us all deeply uninterested. There was so much potential this season and then even within this (awful) storyline there was potential and it was all squandered.

There is truly nothing one could say about this episode other than that it was oddly paced, genuinely boring, and disappointing. Even disregarding the decision to kill Bobby and the validity of it - the way his death was handled this episode was out of character for most of the characters, didn't achieve anything, and was, once again, simply boring.

If Tim Minear wanted to shake things up for shock value, maybe making 3/4 of an episode like this about a random side-plot while sidelining everyone's grief wasn't the smartest idea. I really don't understand any of the decisions at this point, even as someone who thinks Bobby's death was completely unnecessary and an easily avoidable nail in a well-performing show's coffin, I still hoped for a good emotional tribute, for a display of grief as diverse as the characters are. Instead, it was just a waste of screen time with no emotional impact. Thanks, Angela Basset and Kenny Choi for delivering good acting, the only remotely redeemable part of the episode.

I think this is the laziest way a tv show sent off their main character. . . Truly crazy how the bar keeps getting lower and lower. Hopefully both tim minear and kristen reidel move on to 911 nashville and we get a showrunner duo that actually cares about this show and its characters outside of having flashy emergencies.

This season had a tremendous amount of potential. But i guess for tim minear good tv means making movie references no one cares about and bringing back characters no one asked for. . . Characters that have contributed to workplace harassment and discrimination towards 2 of their main characters by the way!

S9 should be this show's final season if they plan on continuing like this !!!

There was a tacit agreement with the audience, that's where the magic was. It's not fun anymore and I'm out.

There was no good reason for this to happen. None. You got bored and wanted to do something extreme, but you forgot you only have a show when people want to watch it.

1 star is the lowest rating. That second star I gave was entirely for the actors, who are doing their best, and who we love. I'm sure there are crew members who can share in that too, but I can't give anymore stars than this. It needs to reflect that I will not be watching anymore.
