All it did here was take away from what actually had potential. They could have just deleted the Rick and Summer plot and put all that screen time into fleshing out the A plot, add actual growth and resolution to their relationship, and not just make a joke out of it like they seem to do with every single thing they know the viewers care about.
Why are they making the show at this point? All they seem to wanna do is just spite the audience. Just quit. Sell the IP and let someone else take over. The amount of disdain from the writers this show emanates is so bizarre.

The main thing is, this crazy stuff doesn't seem to have any real core or lead to anything new, in my opinion. Still, it felt like this episode was made just to further emphasize Morty's failure. Also, Rick's actions didn't really align with his usual character, I think. Morty reflecting on things felt kind of forced mechanically, like he was made to reflect without a real reason. He wasn't even obligated to think about it. Maybe it would've worked better if it was presented more as multiple-choice style or something. I like his boldness, but where does it lead him? Or is something else waiting for him? I don't know.
Even though the episode was split into two separate parts, I'm unsure whether either part could actually carry the other. Jerry likes reading books, haha. And Summer doing all that just to satisfy her desires throughout the whole episode - kind of insane, haha. But still, I want more. Where do these weaker episodes lead to? Is it just a time constraint? I don't know. But creativity should go beyond time limits.

The reviews are saying they don't get this episode. It's clearly a parody of Minority Report, taking aspects of that sci fi movie and playing with it. It doesn't have to be deeper than that for entertainment, and it delivered some good laughs and extrapolated some interesting ideas out of the premise of precognition.
The other story line about Morty's son again just played with that set up from a previous episode, and a garbage disposal theme and ran with it for a few minutes.
There were elements of heart in it, and some good banter. I'm not sure what people are expecting but so long as it delivers entertainment, humour, insight and thought provocation it's already streets ahead of most tv content.

The voice acting of Rick and Morty is becoming nearly unbearable. Rick isn't too bad but I really struggle to watch any episodes that are Morty heavy.
There have been a couple of episodes that have been enjoyable this series but I cant see how much further the show can go. And this sentence is just to meet the required number of. Characters.

This Rick and Morty episode was a real miss, landing firmly on the "therapy to cure insomnia" side. The A-plot with Rick and Summer at the precognitive restaurant was just dull. Rick likes it summer hates it, Summer's mad ricks's not paying attention, and we have two generically boring chase scene .
The B-plot with Morty and his adult son was even worse. It felt like nothing important was happening, leading nowhere. No character, including Morty, was likable or used in an interesting way. The plot felt automatic, and honestly, not a single joke was funny.
It just felt like white noise; things happened just because. But that's how Rick and Morty is a roulette wheel. Sometimes you get gold, and sometimes you get this big pile of nothing, is not that the episode is bad is just that is nothing.
