Better Than Sex

And then this happened, and then this happened, and then this happened....

The show needs focus. We had like 6 plots, none of which connected together. I wish the writers would focus on a particular story, and let it breathe, let us have some investment in the characters.

But every few minutes we jump to something else.

Focus on Carrie's new relationship.

Or focus on Miranda's son....

Please just focus on doing something well. This episode had an F story for crying out loud!

I can accept an A story, with a B story running in the background. But not a C, D, E and F.

This season actually started off alright and had some fun moments. But it has been progressively getting worse and worse as it goes on.

The past 2 episodes were excruciating but this was simply unwatchable.

Production values are fine and the entire reboot could have been fun but they apparently have forgotten the concept of plot.

This season of And Just Like That... has been a masterclass in predictable, anti-climactic storytelling. And frankly, the entire series has been a free-fall from grace since the first season. I can predict with 100% certainty that the Thanksgiving dinner episode-mercifully, the series finale-will feature Brady's baby mama's water breaking. The episode will then culminate in a frantic rush to the hospital, echoing the contrived drama of Charlotte's water breaking. The series will end with everyone crowded around a little bundle of non-binary joy, with the final, groan-inducing thought: And Just Like That, we are all put out of our misery.

This show had the potential to be so much more. Instead, it became a collection of vapid costume changes and hair flips, completely underestimating the intelligence of its audience. We expect more than predictable plot-lines and empty drama. This was truly a sad and disappointing end for a once-iconic franchise.

Parting is not going to be such sweet sorrow. Adieu.

I awarded an extra star this week because of the inclusion of Steve. This was a low energy episode with several unrelated segments that I suppose are drawing the season (and hopefully the series) to a close. Two of the scenes were just dumb, Seema "killing" a mother/plant, and LTW's husband losing his political race. I don't expect much from Charlotte's story line so was not disappointed with her over reaction to apartment noise. But Carrie...oh, Carrie, what have they done to you? First off, SJP is 60 years old, not in her 50s as articles report for "our girls". The stylish suit they had Carrie initially wearing while walking down the stairs was age appropriate and sexy. All the other costumes they put her in are over the top. And that hair...surely a stylist can come up with something more attractive. I cringe when they show Carrie eating as that long hair hovers over her plate. Of course Carrie's behavior will have matured in twenty years but Carrie speaks as if she is on Valium. Did anyone else notice she was wearing low heeled shoes while discussing her book with Duncan? Was this a tease? I did laugh at Anthony's boyfriend's roommate and his puppet but overall this episode was a dud.
