I had no expectations when I tuned in to watch Ashanti and Nelly. I'm not easily impressed or heavily invested in celebrity day-to-day carrying on and I've been a listener and supporter of Ashanti's music since day one. I took the first season for what it is and I enjoyed each episode. It's in plain sight that Ashanti is exercising caution and preserving the sense of privacy that she is used to. She comes across as genuine and open and yet she is guarded and holds cards close to her chest, whereas Nelly is more carefree (and some will say careless) in his expression and opinions. I have my thoughts on a few things but not to the point of climbing on top of a roof and waving a big red flag/psycho analysing their relationship. These are two grown people and I don't get a smokes and mirrors vibe/living a facade here, probably because most of everything deemed negative regarding Nelly, is on front street anyway. They're not trying to portray themselves in a disingenuous way and make fetch happen. Wish Ashanti all the love and all the blessings in marriage and mothership. I'd tune back in if there is season 2.
*** Read at your own discretion honey!*** Lengthy. LOL
I'm not a regular TV watcher, and shows usually aren't my thing-unless it's something classic like A Different World, The Cosby Show, or Saved by the Bell etc. (Yes, I know those were before my time, but I enjoy content that feels genuine and grounded in real life.)
That said, Nelly & Ashanti: We Belong Together was such a sweet and refreshing surprise! They FUNNY 😆. I appreciated the simplicity and how down-to-earth it was. It didn't feel over-produced or drama-filled just for views, and that made it stand out.
I do wish we had been given a little more than what's already been seen on YouTube or social media-but I get it. People have become so quick to prey on others' lives and platforms rather than pray for their well-being and growth. In this age of overexposure, privacy is rare, and sharing your personal life publicly-especially in love-comes with risks.
Still, I genuinely appreciated the time and effort they put into letting us in, even just a little. Honestly, they didn't have to share anything, but they chose to... and that's worth acknowledging. I truly pray God redeems their platform and uses it to bring more truth, holiness, love, family and realness to entertainment, all in the name of Jesus. If continued... Sincerely, I actually want them to be private and covered all for good reasons.
While I may not agree with all the language or every moment, (there were a few scenes I'd mute if kids were around 👀), overall this show was a treat. I've actually watched it three or four times now... skipping around a bit, of course. 👀😆

OMG love this new show & PRAYING there's another season! I could not stop smiling throughout all the episodes! I'm a 90s kid and growing up listening to Ashanti & Nelly was LIFE!! So happy they ended up married!
Getting a sneak peak into their personal lives was definitely a joy to watch! The way they show each other love made my heart melt! Love seeing Ashanti being treated like the queen that she is! So happy there's finally a NEW reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians is getting old! Bring on new families & this one has been a GREAT addition to reality tv! Bring on more seasons, please & thank you!!

I got all the way to episode 7 and then boom true colors came out!! Nelly gets invited to perform at inauguration and Ashanti AND HER MOTHERS countenance changed. I'm so over ppl claiming to be all about civil rights AND IGNORE EVERYTHING that Pres. Trump has done particularly FOR THE BLACK COMMUNITY!! It shows a level of ignorance that's unfathomable!! Also, we are 10yrs in w/Pres. Trump and it's no longer about manufactured hate against the man ITS NOW ABOUT SEPERATING THE WHEAT FROM THE CHAFF!! Folks need to either get off of the script that their entertainment contract is telling them to do grow your own opinions and get a backbone!! Or IMO answer to God! He will not be mocked! Oh and if anyone says Pres. Trump is a bad orange man or simply a bad man THEN YOU/THEY TRULY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT! It's truly all about facts...oh if anyone brings up the whole getting convicted WAIT & WATCH bcuz I garans ball bearings that if what was done to Pres. Trump to a POC ppl would be in an uproar. Which this is a critical thinking type of situation remove Pres. Trump from situation and replace w/a POC and if your thought/opinion changes WELL THEN THAT OUGHT TO TELL YOU SOMETHING RIGHT THERE! Anyways sorry for the rant but when I see nonsense about a situation on a show IT CHANGES my mind about show! Show was great all the way up into episode 7 and episode 8 ain't all that great! Which is another thing network's are doing to get rating they don't intro their TDS until well into season which is an insult to our intelligence...if you think you got me hooked on your show so much that I'll ignore particularly in this sitch...behaviors on or about Pres. Trump and that I'll continue to support your show...think again...REMEMBER SEPERATING THE WHEAT FROM THE CHAFF.

Loved this show sooo much.... I honestly wished either the episodes were longer and/or there were more episodes...that's just how binge worthy they were. Please bring authentic reality tv like this back to our screens! I cannot tell you how many times I had to rewatch certain parts because it was so cute and funny. I cannot express just how refreshing it is to see feel good tv. This show also gave early 2000 vibes from the opening of the show to the return from commercial breaks. Nelly and Ashanti really did their big one with this one...Praying for a season 2... I am also currently rewatching the again :)
