Wow, this movie aired for the first time yesterday, and there are not any reviews yet. I'm surprised.
"Double Scoop" is a cute movie. It is set in Wisconsin, where I'm from. But it wasn't filmed it Wisconsin. It was filmed in Alabama, which is weird. I wonder why they don't film the movies where the story is set?
The leads did a great job. They were both very sweet and professional. Can't say the same for the dairy farmers and the bed and breakfast owner. Those 3 were just annoying, I'm sorry to say, and "Double Scoop" would have been a much better movie with better supporting actors. Everyone else in the movie was great. And it was great seeing how ice cream is made. I didn't know how ice cream is made. Because of the bad supporting actors, I give this movie 5 stars.

6.3 stars.
I was not impressed by this particular Hallmark retelling of an overused story. It is so generic and outdated a theme and I don't have time for this drivel. I've been watching Hallmark movies nonstop for three years and they keep making the same old stuff that is no longer effective since 2018.
I don't understand why they don't follow a romance blueprint that has proven to be successful and entertaining, instead they go back to the same old tropes. It must be fueled by an advertising scheme and I'm not interested in their pitch. First of all, ice cream sells itself, but a good romance movie requires finesse, and this film lacks. The dialogue is boring, the acting is average and this plot has been worn out. Gone is the chemistry, absent is the entertainment, lost is the fun. There is nothing positive to say about 'Double Scoop'.

The story is about Nora, (Taylor Cole) and James, (Ryan McPartlin) two former colleagues, who now work for rival New York City advertising agencies. Nora works for a startup company that needs to land an important account in order to stay in business. She hits upon a family owned dairy farm business that makes the best ice cream and hopes to land them as an account. James bumps into Nora, literally, and needs to land an important client to get a promotion as Vice President and also sees potential in the Ice Cream Company! To add to the pressure James works for a ruthless boss who wants him to do anything and everything to land the Ice Cream account, even if it involves unscrupulous methods to get the deal done. Nora and James both end up in "Wisconsin" to pitch their proposals, and they both agree to play by certain rules of honesty and integrity. To get a real feel for the operation of the ice cream business, Nora and James agree to help out and to fill in for an injured farm worker.by doing chores around the dairy farm. Working together starts to ignite old feelings for each other. However, a conflict arises, (the usual Hallmark formula), when James has an idea to give him a definite advantage to win the couple over. However, his conscious starts to bother him about implementing the idea. The couple owning the ice cream company eargerly agree to hear both their advertising pitches after the annual Ice Cream Festival. Which one will end up landing the account???
The story is based in Wisconsin, but actually filmed in Alabama, despite that fact, the farm scenes with the cows/calves were fun. I thought Taylor and Ryan were perfectly cast in the lead roles, their chemistry was decent, but this movie needed more romance! The supporting roles were well cast, except for the ruthless boss, who made his character almost unbearable to watch. Although it was a cute movie despite the drama, I just found it way way too predictable, I had the ending all figured out about 10 minutes into the movie. Also, the formula of two rival company competitors has been done many times! This movie had some nice moments, but missed the mark!

So predictable & clichéd just what you'd expect, with a Hallmark production.
Curious why they didn't actually film in Wisconsin, too expensive or what? At least it wasn't in yet again,Canada pretending to be in the states.
Story synopsis: Two competing companies try to get a new account but while helping the business, who sells ice cream prepare for a festival(shocker)the competitors-well you can guess the rest.
Acting was ok,found the(main)supporting cast annoying, cinematography was decent & music didn't overwhelm the talking.
With that said.. Was also refreshing seeing some not, overly used typically cast actors.
As mentioned due to being predictable could, fall asleep or fast forward & not feel you missed anything relevant.
Worth seeing once, but not something to rewatch.

I wasn't going to write a review but was a little disturbed by the 6 plus rating for what for me was an annoying , low chemistry cliche filled standard Hallmark movie - Taylor Cole and Ryan McPartlin are excellent leads that were given cliche filled silly antagonistic monolog at the beginning of the show that was almost an instant turn off - it didn't get much better - the show was almost devoid of Romance until the very end which felt more contrived than real - I was looking forward to this movie but can't recommend you invest a couple of hours if you have something else to do - like laundry or mowing the grass.
¿Sabías que…?
- TriviaThe first time Nora and James run into each other on the street, there was a man with a beard, ponytail, and jean shirt that goes past them at least four times both direction.
