I adore everything about series 1-3. I have cried and stood and applauded I have been so moved. As a cynical 47 year old man with kids and the whole stressy life schabang. But WHY is series 4 so bloody wistful, self-indulgent, dreary and abstract? Sidney's absurd indecision is now causing me to shout at the TV, while Bear needs a damn good slap and a harsh talking to. "Did you know there are starving kids and all you can do is mope about with your existential ennui...?!? GROW UP!"
This was yet another episode that felt easy to enjoy, with a couple of memorable stand out moments!
This episode sees Carmen try to figure out how to make everything better, while Richie fears he might be alone in it all and feel disconnected from the restaurant and the team!
Luca made for a nice guest apperance qnd just qdded that little bit extra to the team!
Seeing Carmen smile in this episode brought so much joy qnd just made me feel good right in my soul, cause I realized how rare it is for us to see him smile! It was like in that moment, all the chaos desapeared!
Then disaster struck in the end! Ayo was excellent! I could feel the shock qnd desbelief in her voice!

The scene of Carmy walking through the FLW museum after his AA meeting was so Awsome - the music , camerawork, pictures - it was poetry. The music was such a good fit as well.
Also, such a great episode to drop in Luka. The character development of Marcus continues and it's been an awesome ride. One of the top episodes of the total series.
Sydney is tossed another thing to deal with when she is already at her top stress level - was a great ending and left us asking what is she now going to do.
Cousin seems to be one more wrong step to fully going postal - but we are left thinking he is going to pull out of this and hit it out of the park.

I can't believe it's the halfway point of Season 3 and we still haven't had answers to questions posed in Season 3. This show was firing on all cylinders the first two seasons. It felt fresh and tense and unpredictable. Now it's just hobbling along like a busted old carousel. The audience is just going round and round and the thrill is gone. I don't know how many more shots I can handle of people's phones ringing and they ignore the call. I don't know how much more I can watch Syd's look of indecision. What are they even doing with Richie? They don't even know anymore. Plus, how many more times can this show rely on the formula of: characters about to finally talk out a major issue only to be interrupted by someone walking in. Guess it has to wait. It's tired, stale predictable and worst of all just boring.
What a load of pretentious drivel. This show, NOT a comedy (more ire to follow) is so very very pleased with itself, so dear, so like a peacock that it's nothing but onanism at this point. That pointless, overwrought Alanon soliloquy almost cost me a new TV set. Is this how people in the writers real life talk? Doubt it. People in real meetings aren't that polished. You 'ain't Shakespeare, calm down. Using cool music in every scene isn't artsy or clever, it's laziness. It's covering up for the fact you have no plot. If you show people, exhausted, as the 6 am alarm goes off, you better show them busting their ass at work, not taking time out to shoot baskets, go to the batting cages or sit on a stoop and b.s. Please get your ass back in the kitchen and wow us with food. That's what hooked us season one. Working out all your family's dysfunction isn't as interesting as you think. And secondly, please stop submitting to the comedy category. Your stealing thunder from professional comedy writers. This is a drama, once quite good, with a ton of promise that enjoys some comic relief from the three stooges now and again. NOT A COMEDY!!
