This was a completely unnecessary episode, with very little development of any kind. It begins with a cute idea for a dream sequence, that goes on way too long, then leads into another fu*king dream sequence, all to tell us that Sydney isn't okay, which 1. We already knew, and 2. She lies about to her dad 30 seconds later. Shes just the worst. Her communication skills have surpassed Carmy's on the "How can anybody stand these people?" scale. Meanwhile, food porn wine porn food porn, we're broke, we have a day of cushion left, food porn, Fak is still intolerable, but Richie thinks he's beautiful for some inexplicable reason, Richie opens up a little to the woman 14 years his junior (good for him, but it's nothing new), Carmy and Claire have (not much of) a moment on the phone, Luca and Marcus still get along, Tina is still feeling unsure of herself, and Carmy doesn't want to go see his psycho mom. He sits in a car for eternity, looking like he doesn't know what to do, then he knocks on her door. Credits. Nothing new. Total wheel-spinning filler, uneventful, garbage episode. Get on with it, show. I was such a fan when you weren't phoning it in.
