It is quite telling of our society's ever-escalating state of discourse when the political and cultural commentary in a kids show has to be this on-the-nose. Regardless of how hauntingly true this commentary may be, I think it serves as a sign for us all to reflect on what is going on. It was, however, delivered in a sharply animated fresh start for an iconic show!

Gumball has always been known for its high quality animation, great character writing, and brief moments of political comedy. Episode 1 of this new show amps these qualities of the original show to heights we haven't seen before. The animation is spectacular. The writing is mostly great, though at times it feels as if this was aimed towards an even younger audience than before, despite the themes hitting harder than ever. Perhaps it's just that I was fourteen the last time an episode of Gumball aired, and now I'm an adult in college with a job. Despite this, I found myself laughing out loud at least once a minute to this episode. The messaging has almost never been more blunt, and Gumball has never been more back.

In the current era of uninspired reboots, remakes, spin-offs and such, I was honestly a bit worried about this new season/show, but this was actually a nice start. Quite funny, with an nice thematic and, specially, still very Gumball, tho at times the episode's passing felt a bit weird to me. Still, a solid new beginning that managed to convince me to give this season a fair shot.

A nice first episode to Gumballs return we get another basic silly episode that keeps the same energy as it did in my childhood. Feels just like it to be honest back to being a kid again the nostalgia im getting knowing the amazing world of gumball is back is great cant wait to see more of what this new season has.

Just like the original series! It is hilarious, charming, and engaging. The episode tackles the issue of healthy eating! It does a great job of exposing the downsides of trying to take on a healthier lifestyle in a comedic way. The voice acting feels very connected to the original series. However, something is different about Gumball's voice, but I can't quite put my finger on it... It doesn't bother me that much though because they switched voice actors in the original series a few times so it isn't that bad.
