✨ Review of Dungeon of Ecstasy ✨
This series didn't just leave me speechless-it ensnared me. From the first frame to the last haunting moment, Dungeon of Ecstasy is an intoxicating masterpiece. It pulls you into its shadowed halls of love, betrayal, and power, leaving you suspended between desire and dread.
Eric Guilmette was nothing short of mesmerizing. As Lucien (Luke), he embodied the perfect paradox: powerful yet vulnerable, commanding yet achingly human. Every calculated movement, every cold glance carried layers of hidden longing and restrained fury. His performance was neither overdone nor understated-it was enthralling, seductive, and unforgettable, like a master pulling strings in a forbidden game.
Nicole Mattox gave the series its fierce, beating heart. As Emily, she was radiant with resilience-unyielding in her quest for truth, yet courageous enough to open herself to love and possibility. Her strength was intoxicating, her vulnerability haunting. In many ways, she became the soul of this story, grounding the ecstasy with raw humanity.
Felix Merback was the dangerous whisper in the dark. As Jonah, he was twisted charm incarnate-seductive, manipulative, and cunning. His performance dripped with menace and allure, keeping you guessing whether to trust him or recoil. He was the shadow at the edge of every scene, the temptation that threatened to unravel everything.
The story itself is daring, layered, and unforgettable-a descent into a dungeon where nothing is as it seems, where ecstasy and peril walk hand in hand. And that ending... a masterstroke, lingering like a haunting echo.
Not just a series, but an experience.

Dungeons of Ecstasy takes on territory rarely explored in vertical dramas - blending a BDSM-themed backdrop with layered mystery, suspense, and character depth. Eric Guilmette as Lucian (Luke) and Nicole Maddox as Emily carry the story with strong chemistry, while Felix Merbeck's Jonah adds just the right level of sinister edge.
The story takes what looks like a familiar love-and-loss beginning and flips it into a darker, more complex mystery. It weaves together betrayal, power struggles, and danger, while also digging into deeper themes of trust, surrender, and love in unexpected places.
As a longtime vertical drama viewer, I noticed a few inconsistencies in costuming and small continuity details that pulled me out of the moment. Once I spotted them, they bugged me - but that's more my nitpicky side than a dealbreaker. The story itself kept me hooked, and I liked that it took a concept we haven't seen much of in this format and pushed it further.
The ending leaves the door open for more, and honestly, I'd watch another installment. Overall, Dungeons of Ecstasy is a bold, engaging ride with plenty of intrigue, strong performances, and a unique twist that makes it stand apart in the vertical space.

Dungeon of Ecstasy, starring Eric Guilmette and Nicole Mattox, is a suspenseful and emotionally charged drama that takes audiences on a rollercoaster of tension, heartbreak, and unexpected revelations. From the opening moments, the story grips you and refuses to let go, weaving a tale that is as haunting as it is unforgettable.
What begins with the image of a seemingly happy married couple quickly unravels after a devastating crash. From there, the narrative shifts into a powerful exploration of survival, resilience, and identity. Nicole Mattox delivers a stunning performance as a woman whose strength is tested beyond measure. Watching her fight her way back to health is both heartbreaking and inspiring. Eric Guilmette matches her intensity with a layered portrayal of a man who carries secrets-his presence is equal parts comforting, unsettling, and captivating, leaving the audience constantly questioning his true motives.
What makes Dungeon of Ecstasy so compelling is its balance of emotion and suspense. It doesn't rely on shock value alone; instead, it builds tension gradually, pulling viewers deeper into a story that explores betrayal, love, loss, and the blurred lines between trust and deception. Each twist feels earned, and just when you think you understand the truth, the film takes another turn.
The chemistry between Guilmette and Mattox anchors the film. Their dynamic ranges from tender to volatile, reflecting the constant push and pull of love and hate. This emotional depth elevates the story beyond a typical thriller-it becomes a study of human resilience and the complexities of relationships under extraordinary circumstances.
In the end, Dungeon of Ecstasy is more than just a suspenseful drama. It is a story of survival, self-discovery, and the indomitable human spirit. With standout performances and a plot that keeps you questioning until the very end, this film is a must-watch for anyone who appreciates intelligent, emotionally driven storytelling.

A thrilling, suspenseful, creepy, love story taken place in an Italian fortress.
This is what we have needed in the vertical world, a new storyline that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Just when you think you have the storyline figured out it takes a sharp left leaving you wanting more.
This new vertical is a SMASH hit!! The three main characters compliment each other so well you can feel it.
Eric Guilmette's performance of Luke/Lucian was incredible! Finally a character that let him show more of his acting capabilities. I'm a big fan of Eric's, everything he does is fantastic but this was a whole new side we haven't seen yet. A creepy, suspenseful, loving, protective ex-husband!
Nicole Mattox's portrayal of Emily showed not all vertical women are waiting for a billionaire superhero to save them. She became this character of a vulnerable, smart, strong, capable woman. Defying the damsel in distress! Going toe to toe with her captures. For me this is her best performance. The chemistry between Luke and Emily is undeniable!
Felix Merback definitely brought the creeper vibe into this vertical playing Jonah. So many twists and turns with his character but he never succumbed to letting Eric and Nicole outshine him! There were a few times he reminded me of John Malkovich in this film.
This film deserves and NEEDS a part 2!!
Congratulations to the writers, director, producers, actors and Reelshort for reaching out for something new; it was a huge success!!

"Dungeons of Ecstasy" is a breath of fresh air for the vertical format! The storyline is intriguing, unique, and such a nice break from the endless parade of werewolves we've all seen before.
It begins with Emily (Nicole Mattox) and her husband Luke (Eric Guilmette) in a serious car accident. After a long hospitalization and a shocking set of divorce papers from Luke, Emily heads to Italy in search of answers. There she encounters a mysterious man who looks just like her ex-husband-but with a much darker edge.
Set against the backdrop of a dungeon in Italy, Emily stays to uncover its secrets and unravel the mystery behind the stranger's true identity.
Eric Guilmette is phenomenal as the brooding and enigmatic Lucian (of course he is!). No one else could capture the duality of Luke and Lucian quite like him.
Nicole Mattox shines as Emily, bringing to life a woman who is clearly done with Luke, Lucian, and men in general wasting her time. Her refreshingly nonchalant attitude makes her a standout-no "vertical damsel in distress" here!
Felix Merback nails his role as the good guy who might just have a sinister side, and his expression in the final scene has me begging for DOE 2!
The pacing is perfect-fast-moving with zero repetitive filler-and every episode left me hooked. This is definitely one I'll rewatch again and again!
