Widowed pharmacist Laura Harper moves to the quiet coastal town of Cedarville with her 17 year old daughter Maisie, hoping a change of scenery with ease their grief. But when a classmate overdoses at a party, what seems like a tragic accident begins to unravel into something far more sinister. As Laura settles into her new role at the local pharmacy, she notices troubling irregularities: vanishing prescriptions, forged paperwork, and a missing predecessor no one wants to talk about. Her concerns are brushed off, even by the police, but the deeper she digs, the more the town's polished surface begins to crack. Meanwhile, Maisie is struggling to stay afloat. Isolated and still mourning her father, she finds comfort in a website, where an anonymous user known only as Angel offers solace...and something far more dangerous.
