Bye Mr. Ex, Your Commander Is Calling

I purchased this movie short since I thought Jordan Frank and Meg Bush would make for a well-suited romantic pairing. They in fact do, but what a stupid screenplay. 2/3rds of the movie is wasted on featuring the utterly stupid antics and acting of the ex-boyfriend. If this was supposed to be comedy, it failed.....it became utterly annoying. Worse yet, even though the production costs for this movie was probably less than $1,000, you can still buy a pen and write a screenplay about the 'Green Berets' that doesn't make the squad look like a bunch of high-schoolers at summer camp. The total lack of discipline, the total disregard for rank and costuming a Lieutenant with Colonel clusters and a Captain with a Master Sergeant insignia patch on his arm was 3rd grade level costuming. While the lead pairing was visually attractive (especially Meg Bush in full make-up and a silver evening gown), the ridiculous depiction of a military unit was annoying... I felt no viewing engagement from the storyline. The scripting of the romance was generally good and the lead chemistry was apparent. 3 points for the lead romance and 2 points for Meg Bush dolled-up. Zero points for the actual storyline.
