The series started off really strong-great pacing, compelling storyline, and impressive acting. I especially loved the chemistry between the two main characters and found Phoebe's friend to be a fun and likable addition. Their dynamic felt genuine and well-developed, and I was fully invested as the plot unraveled, especially with the suspense building around Amber's crimes.
However, I was really thrown off by the episode where Jack's friend, Sable, entered the picture. Her involvement didn't seem to add much value to the story and felt disconnected from the main plot. It disrupted the emotional momentum that had already been established, especially after the leads had reached a strong point of understanding and connection.
Then, just as things were settling in a satisfying way, the plot took an unexpected turn where one character was suddenly placed in a situation where she was being seduced. It felt out of place and unnecessary, especially considering how well the story had been progressing on its own. That twist didn't sit right with me-not because of who was involved, but because it didn't feel authentic to the story's direction or the emotional tone that had been built up to that point.
Overall, it's a well-acted and mostly well-written show with strong characters and engaging moments. I would have gladly rated it an 8, but that sudden shift in focus weakened the impact of the story for me.
