"Excellent. Husband. Material."
Spoiler alert: there is a rom-com hidden in here - a love-at-almost-first-sight story that starts with dating-app chaos and ends on a soft "Dad, I think I met someone."
But not so fast.
It is buried inside one nasty, funny, brilliantly-crafted horror flick: focused script, colorful characters, great pacing - and some of the sickest, goriest set-pieces in years.
Twisted, hilarious, and repulsive in all the right ways - a full-blown torture-porn splatterfest with a meta edge, courtesy of its female director.
Straight to the Sick Flick List it goes.
Highly recommended for anyone with a strong stomach and a broken sense of humor.
REAL SPOILERS START HERE.
Paola - Always carries matches in her bra (they come in handy). - Loves: jump-scaring her sister Maria around dark corners with a tray to the face. - Dislikes: dick pics, and giant schlongs.
Natalie - Queen of profile-staging. Comes with a temper. - Loves: deep phone conversations, dom-play, and public restrooms. - Dislikes: unexpected hands-on facial experiences.
Henry - Elephant. Man. - Think a mousetrap to your toes is bad? Think again. - His "doll room" deserves a shrine in horror history. - Enjoys: baseball, rusty nails, flying teeth, face-off.
Lucille - Tech-savvy mother of two. - Hobbies: catfishing, matchmaking, keeping the family business running.- Fun fact: when she spits in her hand mid-conversation, you know you're in trouble. - A little rough on first meetings - "Well, I trust my son would not be able to muster even half an erection in your presence, Natalie." but tender at heart, and a true pep-talk champ: "Plan B. Forget the fornication. Finish her. Dead." - Loves: playing pat-a-cake with her son, and cathartic endings.
Final shot: "It's a Match" vs "Delete App?" - Perfect button for a deranged love story.

Kinda like barbarian
A tense online dating thriller that starts innocent then spirals into danger. Sharp pacing, eerie twists, and a believable villain keep the tension tight. Smart, fast, and unsettling, it turns a simple match into a nightmare you can't look away from. Had some wild shots and scenes in it. DOnt watch with your parents.
Mid Low Budget Horror movie
I actually found some enjoyment in this movie.
It has a pretty solid story line, that a lot of people in the real world can relate to (creating all the more Erie feeling) You can tell some of the props were on the low end of a budget horror movie which may turn some viewers away (unrealistic scenes) However, I give praise to the story line and the psychological twists within the movie. I'm usually rather good at guessing the outcomes of a movie- and this is one that I was honestly unsuspecting of.
It kept me on my toes and intrigued almost the entire way through.
The first few minutes were a little hard to get through as they built the plot and developing characters.. but it wasn't one that dragged on forever.
All in all, it's not the best movie I've ever seen, but it was definitely worth the time spent watching it, especially if you like all the twists and psychological thrillers.

Unexpected roller coaster ride
I didn't have any advance warning of what to expect from this film - just that it was a horror story. It certainly lived up to that classification, and a lot more too. What starts as a conventional dating app meet turns into a living nightmare as it kept getting more and more gross, piling on the tension as the horror built up, ultimately reaching new levels of horrified engagement as it soars to new heights of preposterousness. Then at times it turns into a comedy - a very, very dark comedy. Thoroughly recommended to anyone who likes the challenge of a cross-genre film.
Paola is the most useless character
This movie wouldn't be half bad if it wasn't for one of the main protagonists inability to have any urgency to do anything useful at any point. She feels like a damsel in distress pretty much the whole film even when she has the upper hand. Makes this otherwise decent movie a hard watch. At the very least you can catch it on Tubi so at least I didn't pay for it.
