Unknown Number: High School Catfish is a gripping documentary that delivers an emotional punch from start to finish. What begins as a seemingly ordinary story quickly unravels into a disturbing tale of deception, betrayal, and manipulation. The film captures the raw emotions of those involved, leaving viewers feeling the same shock, disgust, and disbelief experienced by the victims. The storytelling is sharp, well-paced, and unflinchingly honest, ensuring that the weight of the events lingers long after the credits roll. It is not just a story about catfishing; it is a reminder of how deeply people can be hurt by lies and hidden identities. True crime enthusiasts will appreciate the intensity and real-life stakes, while documentary fans will value its unfiltered exploration of human behavior and vulnerability. If you are looking for a watch that will both engage and unsettle you, this documentary will not disappoint.
Wow! I did not expect the person to be that person until the very second it was confirmed!
What a crazy story, like insanity-level crazy!
I don't want to spoil so i'm not going to say who it is, but let me say this:
The person is a very sick individual. I truly believe that the person should not under any circumstances be around children, ever. The person seems to be a narcissist, possibly on the level of psycopathy. It's a dangerous person, and if I was living in that town, I would avoid the person every single way possible.
The victims in this story, I really feel for them. This consumed a large portion of their youth and clouded days that should have been bright. I'm so glad that it didn't break the victims entirely and caused them to commit suicide or something because that could have become a very real consequence of the almost TWO YEARS of constant harassment and bullying. I hope they can trust people again and that this doesn't cause them to question every person who they get close to. I hope they heal and overcome this crazy ordeal! Thank god for FBI and for them being able to uncover the truth.

The twist at the end was quite something. The person concerned should never be allowed near another in her lifetime, so wicked and evil are their deeds.
The only problem I had was the 'first messages'. We all know who started this and yet the law and the documentary makers let her slide off the hook when it could have been proven beyond all doubt.
Well worth a watch though.

Throwing stones here is useless. Nothing makes any sense outside of some form of extreme mental illness breaking the most sacred barriers of trust. It's that devastating. It is a very personal story that affected the most vulnerable children also tearing at least one family apart. There are waves of shock, disgust, anger, with few answers as to why in this case. Healing after devastation like this is the hard part which will forever be ongoing. That includes the perpetrator who is obviously mentally so bent, in an almost impossible way that's impossible to come back from without lifelong intense therapy and the miracle of God's Grace. I get some solace seeing the main victim, Lauren, is embracing that Grace.
This is a shocking story with a twist the viewer will never guess without prior knowledge of this insidious stalking crime. A truly bizarre crime story that will leave the viewer puzzled seeking more answers how anything like this can be reality. A good overview told in logical sequence yet frustrating for what we don't know and can't understand.

I can not believe the twist in this...to push young teens to the point of suicide is egregious. This documentary is one of the few ones that netflix has put out this year that actually had a truly fascinating story. Worth the watch. Makes you want scream but it is very interesting. The excuses still don't make any sense though.
