...the opportunity to plop the first review of this furshlugginer documentary. If you're a Mad fan, you're going to want to see it, guaranteed. It's a fine bit of nostalgia. If you're not, why are you here reading a review of it? That's not nostalgia, that's masochism.
So, yeah, that's it really. The story unfolds in pretty much linear fashion, with skillful interplay of talking heads and timely illustrations, and if that's not your thing, then this film is not for you. Go away.
Long live Mad magazine!

...that are difficult to rate: those mid-range fives and sixes that you kinda-maybe didn't mind watching but would you ever watch them again films. Josh "The Faculty" Hartnett does an interesting job with his character, but how he got talked into it I'll never know. M. Night's daughter is a lovely enough young singer/songwriter of forgettable pop music, but not an actor. There were just a few too many "oh, c'mons!" for this to be anything more than a feature-length video to promote his daughter's concurrent album. I will admit it was fun seeing an old film crush, Hayley Mills, enjoying her unlikely role as an F. B. I. Profiler. Don't be snared; this one is dispensable.
